Some good lyrics I was listening to recently, Damaged Goods by the Gang of Four, first released in 1979 (gee, I'm getting old!);

The change will do you good

I always knew it would

Sometimes I'm thinking that I love you

But I know it's only lust

Your kiss so sweet

Your sweat so sour

Your kiss so sweet

Your sweat so sour

Sometimes I'm thinking that I love you

But I know it's only lust

The sins of the flesh

Are simply sins of lust

Sweat's running down your back

Sweat's running down your neck

Heated couplings in the sun

(Or is that untrue?)

Colder couplings in the night

(Never saw your body)

Your kiss so sweet

Your sweat so sour

Sometimes I'm thinking that I love you

But I know it's only lust

The change will do you good

I always knew it would

You know the change will do you good

You know the change will do you good

Damaged goods

Send them back

I can't work

I can't achieve

Send me back

Open the till

Give me the change

You said would do me good

Refund the cost

You said you're cheap but you're too much

Your kiss so sweet

Your sweat so sour

Sometimes I'm thinking that I love you

But I know it's only lust

The change will do you good

I always knew it would

You know the change will do you good

You know the change will do you good

I'm kissing you goodbye

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

I'm kissing you goodbye

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

I'm kissing you goodbye

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

I'm kissing you goodbye

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

I'm kissing you goodbye

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

I'm kissing you goodbye

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

Bye...

(Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye)

current tunes in the car include The Wreckers,American Female country (sort of) duo.

Neil Young's latest,2nd of his archieve material to be released.....live at Massey Hall.

Nouvelle Vague.......... :worship:

watching the latest Tarantino/Rodriguez film recently and heard a song being played in the background.

it was 'too drunk to fuck' by the Dead Kennedys but done in a avant-garde sort of way.

researched the film and found the track list and found the group.

they do different versions of punk and new wave songs i soon went a bought their material.

Popped Rebel by John Miles in the player this morning.

Track 1, Music is a classic.

Music was my first love

And it will be my last

Music of the future

And music of the past

To live without my music

Would be impossible to do

In this world of troubles

My music pulls me through

The follow up to Music was quite good, it's called Munching

Munching was my first love

And it will be my last

Munching of the future

And munching of the past

To live without my munching

Would be impossible to do

In this world of troubles

My munching pulls me through

Scissor Sisters

Cross between Bee Gees, Elton John, Human League

Here are the ironic lyrics to one of their chirpy, melodic songs (the melody actually is lovely):

I can't decide

It's not easy having yourself a good time

Greasing up those bets and betters

Watching out they don't four-letter

Fuck and kiss you both at the same time

Smells-like something I've forgotten

Curled up died and now it's rotten

I'm not a gangster tonight

Don't want to be a bad guy

I'm just a loner baby

And now you're gotten in my way

I can't decide

Whether you should live or die

Oh, you'll probably go to heaven

Please don't hang your head and cry

No wonder why

My heart feels dead inside

It's cold and hard and petrified

Lock the doors and close the blinds

We're going for a ride

It's a bitch convincing people to like you

If I stop now call me a quitter

If lies were cats you'd be a litter

Pleasing everyone isn't like you

Dancing jigs until I'm crippled

Slug ten drinks I won't get pickled

I've got to hand it to you

You've played by all the same rules

It takes the truth to fool me

And now you've made me angry

I can't decide

Whether you should live or die

Oh, you'll probably go to heaven

Please don't hang your head and cry

No wonder why

My heart feels dead inside

It's cold and hard and petrified

Lock the doors and close the blinds

We're going for a ride

Oh I could throw you in the lake

Or feed you poisoned birthday cake

I wont deny I'm gonna miss you when you're gone

Oh I could bury you alive

But you might crawl out with a knife

And kill me when I'm sleeping

That's why

I can't decide

Whether you should live or die

Oh, you'll probably go to heaven

Please don't hang your head and cry

No wonder why

My heart feels dead inside

It's cold and hard and petrified

Lock the doors and close the blinds

We're going for a ride
