Thailand believe the evening kick-off could favour Australia in their crucial meeting tomorrow as the pair clash for a quarter-final spot.

Thailand need a draw in their final Group A match against the Socceroos, who must beat the Thais to advance to the knockout stage.

The match kicks off at 7.35pm at Rajamangala National Stadium while Oman take on Iraq at the same time at Supachalasai Stadium.

Maybe the cards are falling for an Aussie victory

after all. :)

Strange tactic. It's not a must win game. All they need is a draw to guarantee moving on so encouraging them to open themselves to a higher chance of a counter goal and a loss is a risky proposition. 1M each is a crazy amount of money too. I don't understand this approach. If it were in the knock out stages, then yeah. But this just makes no sense to me given their standing.

Yeah - Maybe the stragety is with four points already in the bag, a draw will be enough for Thailand to advance, while for Australia, nothing less than a victory will do.

Thailand coach Chanvit Phalajivin aims to finish at the top of Group A as he wishes to avoid Japan in the knockout phase if Thailand qualify.

Thailand are tied top of the group with Iraq with four points.

''The situation right now is good for our team,'' said Chanvit.

''We play Australia next and we have to beat them to get home advantage for the quarter finals. "

''We have to finish at the top of our group.''

So maybe that's the reason behind the payout...

On TV they had a pile of 1000bht notes bundled together and one of the players "wai" the Thai FIFA rep (Chairman, president ???)

Other news...made me laugh...

Thai midfielder Datsakorn Thonglao is getting married tomorrow morning (today) and may miss the game.

So...how seriously is he taking the game :nahnah:

Good luck... Team Thai
