Man....the last time I went it took 17 days 17 hours and 47 mins., :banghead::banghead: still I found out that there is someting called the 'internet". Now it take me just a little then 2.30 hrs to reach JKT from Bkk.

It is no rocket science or like finding Bin Laden, where it cost billion $$$$ to find. :shhh::shhh:

In today world on the internet.... all airlines give the flying time..... :neener::neener:

Agree, about 3 1/2 hours when I visited my best friend who works there last year. He lives about 45 minutes from the airport and he and his wife picked me up at the airport using his driver. If you don't have a visa, they can issue you one on arrival. I arrived when banks were closed and did not have the money needed to pay for the Visa. The Visa was US $26 and I had only $20 US on me, lots of travelers checks but they wanted US Cash Only. After trying lots of places, I finally got a vendor who would give me $10 US in exchange for some Baht. Learned my lesson, will always travel now with a minimum of US money in small bills just for occasions like this. Had a good time there although the visit was short. My buddy and his wife dropped me off at Blok M on my last night and said I was on my own, picked up a cute FL at one of the bars and walked around the corner to a ST hotel. Paid around 300,000 Rupee (About $30)for her and about 20,000 Rupee for the hotel. About $50 total for a good short time. I walked into the bar around 20:00 and I was the only customer in the place, the bartender said it was too early and to come back later. Went back around 23:00 and the place was packed, standing room only. Finally found a stool to sit on and chatted with a few girls. The one I picked up wanted me to take her and her friend but I did not like her friends looks so said I would do short time with her only, not the two of them. Had a good time there and would like to go back and stay a little longer and look around. The only thing I didn't like was the public transportation. Just buses, motos, or taxis. The only thing about being there is you have to know where the action is and where you want to go. You should usually take a taxi, especially at night. Use a Bluebird Taxi as my friends wife said some other taxi drivers would rip you off if you are a visitor.
