Bangkoktraveler
Been looking at some of the strange things that are available from Thailand. One of the items was metta oil. Na Man Plai seems to be one of the ingredients of metta oil. Na Man seems to translate as oil. Plai seems to mean corpse. I hope this is a joke but what I was told is the best Na Man Plai generally comes from a pregnant woman who dies along with the unborn woman. ..
Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but that's a very funny misinterpretation (or a deliberate "let's fuck with the farang" moment). Phlai (à ¹?à ¸?à ¸¥) is a plant. Specifically, the jengibre colorado, or zingiber (or Zingiber cassumunar if you're into Latin). Used as an herbal treatment for arthritis. Cheers, SD PS -- à ¸?à ¸²à ¸Âà ¸¨à ¸? saak-sop (or either word used seperately) means corpse.
