ALHOLK
Hi! I have changed TC's from both AMEX and Tomas Cook many times. If you are very drunk they will often refuse to change anything but small amounts of cash. regards ALHOLK
Old Hippie
Never had a problem cashing them. The bug is, they charge you some sort of service fee, works out to either 23 or 43 bht, van't remember...
ALHOLK
Hi! On the other hand you get a better rate than if you change bills. The best rate, at least where I come from, is to draw money from a bank card. regards ALHOLK
robaus
23 baht service fee is quite cheap compared with some European countries. Last time I was in UK (5 yrs ago)it was a minimum 3 pounds per cheque commission if I remember rightly - that's 189 baht per cheque. Yes, you do get more for TC than cash, but you lose the benefit on the 1% commission you pay when you buy the cheques, unless you can buy them commission free. Credit cards are OK so long as they don't get chewed up by the atm. A mixture of cash, card, TC should tide you over. Up to u.
