junglesoup
Just saw this ad for a Thai language school on Sukhumvit. It says that if you sign up for the yearly course, which is 180 lessons, then they will provide you with a year long ED visa. The course costs 29,400 for a year. Just thought it might be a good solution for anyone who wants to learn Thai, and stay in LOS without any visa problems for a year. Flashermac
Probably an ordinary student visa. You can sign up for the Thai Studies certificate or a graduate degree programme at a university and get the student visa easily enough. I've met folks living here on student visas and attending (sort of) Assumption and Bangkok University. Don't remember how many years you are allowed to finish your degree. Ckrisg
According to this advert by the School you can study for three years by obtaining a visa every year, also states that you need to go to Immigration every 90 days to renew but don't have to leave the country. Anybody on the Board have an ED Visa.
junglesoup
I did have an Ed visa. I studied at SAE (Sound and Audio Engineering Instite)It lasted for 15 months. They seem to be the easiest one to get IME.
wonderlust
Do Thai universities offer postgraduate courses taught in English?
Flashermac
A few do. Assumption (aka ABAC) teaches almost all classes in English. I know a Canuck who got an MA in EFL there and a Brit who's studying for an MA in Philosophy. Met a Yank who was studying something at Bangkok University. Thammasat has undergrad programmes for a BBA and Bachelors in Economics. Don't know about graduate degrees. Chula and Mahidol also have English language BBA programmes. Thammasat and Srinakarinwirote both have one year certificates in Thai Studies (language, history, geography etc.) Ramkhamhaeng has some international degree programmes. Don't remember what in though, except for the BBA. There are some MBA programmes offered here in English.
