It's the rainy season now, pissing down every day at least once. Hurry up or you'll miss it.

I'm landing at Swampypoom very late 1 September. I should catch the tail end of the rainy season.

Trip insurance is now in place.

This sort of sums up my comments on “Expat†thread.

Trip insurance is not something I don’t even think about since I have full global health care insurance as part of my “Expat Packageâ€

That is Health Insurance and not Global Health Care, I doubt your Thailand Insurance has cover for Medivac to say Singapore if required

I also have global health insurance, it's a bitch to claim sometimes, goes by the Hong Kong standards, and no optometrists don't write scripts in Thailand for glasses! Fuckers! but most other things like get me out of Kiribati, it's sinking, they are good for.

Claim, Claim. ... what the hell is a Claim. Sod that for a game of soldiers.

I have AON Gold Card, fortunate never to had to use it my self but one guy I work with slipped and busted his thigh bone, straight to Hanoi and Titanium splint applied, another was smashed in the face, fractured jaw, medivac to Singapore and neither of them had to dip hand into pocket, the gold AON Card is just like a Credit Card.

I think it cost my company around USD6,000 per annum for my cover, I am only paid 47% into my bank of what Stuttgart invoices Ha Noi, but Health Care, Accommodation, Utilities Bills and Transportation etc forms part of "The Expat Package"

PS. 13 Days but not Counting, 14th trip back to Thailand in 56 Months

Many insurers cover travel to a foreign country for a limited number of days. Perhaps check with your agent, or, ugh, read the policy.
