Lamock Chokaprret Posted December 20, 2001 Report Share Posted December 20, 2001 I don't mean to get anyone's hopes up falsely but my g/f said she heard a piece on Thai news last night that Purachai's nazis were going to allow bars to stay open until 6AM following New Year's Eve (only for that one night). Can anyone confirm or deny this? I didn't hear it myself and probably wouldn't have understood it anyway. Didn't see anything on it in the BKK Post this morning. IN BRIEF Party until 6am Entertainment venues can stay open until 6am on New Year's day. Interior Minister Purachai Piumsombun said the extended Jan 1 closing time granted by the Prem Tinsulanonda government still stood. The usual closing time, introduced under Mr Purachai's social order crusade, is 2am. Mr Purachai stressed no extension to the 6am closing time would be allowed.
