CTO Posted April 9, 2008 Report Share Posted April 9, 2008 I'm up in the village for a few week's. Working here, as well as playing, trips to Laos, and side work trips. I love the village, been here two days only, so these are just a few pics that stood out. But first a thought, on the way here I had to do a site inspection, 110 km's fro Bangkok, typical village and NO phone and even ore amazing, NO MOBILE access! Anyway Remember what we did before the internet for porn? Well these pics of the local "Petrol Pump" might remind you! It's owned by the older lady in the pic, younger one is the "pump girl" and the owner's husband collects "Porn". Quite a funny shop. The local school for teaching hairdressing makes visits from their school to poor villages. Once their the students cut hair for free, quite a fun day, young old and ugly men too The picture of the bug is a first for me, never seen one that big! IT is no trick, seriously big caterpillar. The house I am in is home brewing Satoe, rice wine , so if I get illegible, I'll blame that! The last set is Mar Noo - I wrote about her last year, when she nearly died, this lady never gives up,never gives in, and life is always good, look at the smile! Sad thing is her son is a truck driver, had two accidents in one month, both times sadly killing someone and not insured, and guess who had to sell her house for 120 000 baht to pay for her son's problems. And yet she said this yesterday "It is good I sold the house to K Mak, he sold his house in the village 5 years ago to work in the South, and when he came back had no where to live, so now he has a hoe of his own again" Nat a bad attitude, she's living in the shack out on the farm, happy as ever, and I buy chicken isaarn spaghetti every day from her. Mar Noo was her first and most loved nanny, anyway there is a pretty sad story about her somewhere on the site, have a search if your interested but basically she's a tough old bird, and looking good for her age too!
