Guest
bibblies, If you live in Thailand and it's 4am, I think the American did you a favor! Go to sleep for goodness sakes. I am surprised that there aren't more fights over BGs, since newbies often bring their idiotic home-country mindsets with them.
Guest
LeoTex, Â Start making sense. Katoeys are far too dilectible to hog for oneself--they are to be shared, as is a fine bottle of wine. prrrrrrrr PS--When I shared that one with you (from the noodle stand by Foodland), it was out of kindness, and not because you had threatened, otherwise, to kick my ass. Guest
It was my second night in the same go-go bar in Phuket. I arrived pretty late on my second night after not finding anything on Bangla road. A very nice BG, whom I bar fined the night before, spotted me coming in but I didn't bother to talk to her since she was with another guy. After sitting down with a few drinks, one of her good friends came over and asked me if I wanted to bar fine her again. Her friend also explained that she was already bar fined by the guy she was sitting with. So I asked her "How is that possible?" She told me that I just need to give her the 500 baht so she can give it back to the guy that bar fined her. I agreed but I felt kinda of awkward and wondered what was going to happen next. After giving his money back(the French guy, as I happen to find out) he was furious about what had just happened. All of the mamasans had to come over and explain things to him, then he walked out the bar. It made me felt really bad but it was well worth it because I had a really nice night with the BG. You think what I did was right??? Bar etiquette???
gummigut
Choice was offered to you by the bar girl. I don't see how you did anything wrong. One of the things I feel is essential is that the girl has the choice of going or not going with someone. She exercised her right of choice. Don't feel bad. Be happy!!! <<burp>>
Guest
It was my second night in the same go-go bar in Phuket.... You think what I did was right??? Bar etiquette??? If you'd known exactly what they were going to do and how upset the guy would be then you shouldn't have had any part in it. However, it sounds as if there was truly no malice on your part and you weren't trying to screw over the other guy. At worst it's a minor breech of protocol, since it wasn't your idea and you didn't get directly involved. But it was pretty bad form of the mamasan and the girl; if I were the other guy I would be pissed too. They should have at least comped him a beer or two. While the girls do have the choice of who they go with, once the barfine is accepted they should not return it for a better offer.
Guest
I'm with you FarangDang. Moreover, one of the things I feel is essential is that a guy has the choice of going or not going with someone. Once customer #2 realized how readily these business women would trash a customer (e.g. #1), customer #2 should have exercised his right of choice, and left them with the bar fine but no additional business--ST, LT fee. By the way, when these women pulled this scam, they knew that there was a decent chance that customer #2, unknowingly, was going to get his teeth knocked out. Not what I call customer service. Maybe the French guy should have given back the un-consumed beer he still had in his bottle, since it really was not too late to go back on that transaction, either. I'm big on treating BGs with respect, but I expect it in return. And, a deal, wilfully commited to, is a deal. Guest
This really does put in question those of us that pay for a barfine and want to come back later. I mean imagine having thought that at 8pm you have secured an absolute stunner for the night, only when you come back at 11pm to party for the night there is 500Baht in free drinks waiting for you instead!!!
