Bargirls in The Combat Zone in Taipei (back in the early 90s when it was happenin') used to mix Royal Salute with Coke. :banghead: Doesn't make it right.

Why waste good whiskey/whisky? If you are gonna mix with a strong flavourted mixer, just drink "Jim-Bob's three week old corn-squeezin' hootch." You won't know the difference.

To each their own, I guess -- yer just posin', and I know you get off on that, so carry on.

Cheers,

SD,

where I'm from On the rocks or straight is the only acceptable form of drinking a fine whisky - and I also used to snide at people who would mix they whiskhey or cognac. If my fellow custodians of good taste and yourself say so, it must be right, right??

Nowadays I find unmixed hard liquors a bit strong for my taste, and feel the difference between Blue and black even if mixed with (a bit of) coke - or most other mixers I guess.
