rogueyam Posted July 11, 2008 Report Share Posted July 11, 2008 Since folks here seem to like ongoing threads on political topics (I sure do) I am starting this thread on the impending collapse of the United Kingdom. Everyone knows the theory, we've all seen the supporting evidence, how about a thread where we all watch her thrash about in the quicksand? Of course, any instances of pushback by the few remaining sane people there would be most welcome as well. But mainly I expect to post stories about jihad, criminality, and socialistic and cultural-Marxist disfunction. So why such a thread? It is my belief that Britain is, more than any other place, the original source for the (what I consider Anglo-American) liberalism (in the classical sense of the word) that has enabled the wonderful lives those of us who post here have been free to live. The liberty and opportunity and mobility that we have all enjoyed can and could only have been dreamt of by 90+ percent of all of the human beings who have ever lived. Yet the British (not exclusively, of course, but rather pointedly and spectacularly) are voluntarily giving away their freedom and their culture in exchange for nothing at all that anyone can identify. Why is this happening? Where will it lead? Can it be stopped? The first step is always to admit you have a problem. This thread is where the problem is admitted. Anticipating objections, I'll only say that no one has to read or post here. Here are a first few items: Toddlers who dislike spicy food 'racist' By Rosa Prince, Political Correspondent Telegraph.UK 08/07/2008 Toddlers who turn their noses up at spicy food from overseas could be branded racists by a Government-sponsored agency. The National Children's Bureau, which receives £12 million a year, mainly from Government funded organisations, has issued guidance to play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist incidents among youngsters in their care. This could include a child of as young as three who says "yuk" in response to being served unfamiliar foreign food. Link Schoolboys disciplined for 'refusing to pray to Allah' By Nick Britten Telegraph.UK 05/07/2008 Two schoolboys were allegedly disciplined after refusing to kneel down and "pray to Allah" during a religious education lesson. It was claimed that the boys, from a year seven class of 11 and 12-year-olds, were given detention after refusing to take part in a practical demonstration of how Allah is worshipped. Yesterday parents accused the school of breaching their human rights by forcing them to take part in the exercise. Link Plans to clear undergrowth from gay sex spot branded discriminatory By Richard Alleyne Telegraph.UK 08/07/2008 A council has been accused of discriminating against homosexuals over plans to clear undergrowth from a notorious gay cruising spot. Work on the Downs beauty spot has been temporarily stopped while talks with gay rights groups take place Bristol City Council wants to prune bushes and remove cover from an area known as the Downs to improve the landscape and encourage rare wildlife. But its own gay rights group has opposed the move, claiming that cutting back the bushes was "discriminating" to homosexual men who used the area for late night outdoor sex known as dogging. Link Abu Qatada, Osama Bin Laden's right-hand man, shopping in London By Duncan Gardham, Security Correspondent 10/07/2008 Telegraph.UK Abu Qatada, the man once described as Osama bin Laden's right hand man in Europe, was pictured out walking the streets on the third anniversary of the 7/7 terror bombings. He was released from Long Lartin high security jail in Worcestershire jail last month after the Government failed to have him deported to Jordan where he is wanted for terrorism offences. The case is being taken to the House of Lords but in the mean time Qatada's family is understood to be claiming around £47,000 a year in benefits - £500 a week in child benefits for the four of his five children under 18, £210 for income support, £150 for incapacity benefit, £45 in council tax benefit â?? along with a council home worth around £800,000. Sure the whole P.C. thing in the UK is nuts, but it will be addressed. Common sense will prevail. The main problem in the UK is decades of poor governments. Of course it is evidence. What else do you claim it is? And yes, these are mere anecdotes. That is all there will be until it is already long over. Finally yes, there will be denial regardless. But if you really want more, you will get it. As for the same happening in the US and elsewhere, yes and no. For one thing I already acknowledged that the UK was not alone in displaying these weaknesses (try responding to the post sometime). I submit, however, that the frequency and intensity of PC fuckwittery is greater in the UK and the strength of the pushback is far less than the US. That's why Britain is doomed. Sure the whole P.C. thing in the UK is nuts, but it will be addressed. Common sense will prevail. When? How? Post examples here why don't you? The main problem in the UK is decades of poor governments. The ruling 'elite' really are a bunch of fuckwits. Always the "elites" never the people. And what makes these governments "poor"? I'd say it is socialism and cultural Marxism that has weakened the patient and that Jihadism and criminality are the opportunistic diseases that will finish her off. What's your theory? Socialists, jihadis, and criminals are everywhere, and everywhere they are they do what they do. My theory is that the UK is on a steeper, more slippery slope, they are further down the slope, they are descending faster, and there are fewer people even trying to stop as compared to OZ. In these cases, the criminal pays for the service of the electronic monitoring as oppose to the tax payers paying to incarcerate the crimnal. In the USA, their are divergence programs which criminals take which are classes to help them with their problems. They pay for the classes instead of the taxpayers paying for their incarceration. But we're just getting started here and this story is such the perfect "trifecta" (jihad, yobbery, and disfunctional officialdom) that I can't resist: Youth walks free after gang attack on priest By SUZY AUSTIN Tuesday, June 24, 2008 Metro.UK A drunken teenager who beat up a priest walked free yesterday after the judge accepted the attack was a 'one-off mistake'. Babul Islam was one of three Asian youths who attacked Canon Michael Ainsworth in his churchyard. The 19-year-old punched the vicar in the head while others kicked him ' one all¬egedly shouting 'f*****g priest' ' only stopping when passers-by intervened. His battered victim spent nearly two weeks in hospital after the assault, which prosecutor Carl May-Smith said 'had a profound effect on him'. In the days following the attack, the Rev Alan Green, Dean of Tower Hamlets, said there were 'faith hate' incidents in the area every month.
