He started writing with a girl in PP who is a relative of a friend's wife. I should comment that he has never had much luck with women so he is pretty excited about meeting this girl despite the fact that they need a translator to communicate. He had asked me about Cambodia before leaving. I told him all the normal stuff and then I commented that he should pack plenty of condoms. He replied "I don't plan to have sex when I am there". I just stood there speechless. I am still trying to understand how a single guy could spend a month in Cambodia and not have sex. Is that even possible? You won't believe it, but there a men who don't want to have sex with prostitutes for whatever reason. Maybe he never went to a prostitute, or maybe it scares him to have sex in PP after all the stories about HIV, sex slaves and underage girls which were reported from PP in the recent years. But of course this doesn't mean that he won't have sex. Some girls are very clever to give the illusion that they are genuinely interested in a guy and don't show any attitude of a P4P girl. On my first or second evening in PP (after my very first week in BKK, where I had just one girl from SC) I met such a girl. Albeit I had basic P4P information from boards like Nanaplaza I was a little bit surprised when the girl asked for money the next morning... After meeting for the first time and spending 21 days with this girl, who he can barely understand, he is married to her. He came back wearing a ring and showing wedding photos. I am not sure how official the wedding was but he is now working on getting her a visa to come here. Trying to talk him out of this is pointless as it would just make him angry. So I was about to wish him well until I saw the photo. I was imagining some young thing in her 20's. Instead the woman is at least 45 (claiming to be 34) and she is not a looker at all. Just to make sure that I wasn't being overly critical I asked a fellow sanuker for his opinion. He took one look at her photo and said that he thought it was a guy and then he said "nice try" because he was sure that I was putting him on. Now I am really tempted to advise my friend to postpone the visa. Instead take a year or two off and go live in Cambodia with her. He has enough money and doesn't care about his current job. He has actually talked about taking a year off to go do volunteer work anyway. I think this would be a good test to see if the girl bolts.
