I personally thought Gomer Pyle was 100% straight on. I don't think they could have done a better job.

I, I just don't know. Is there suppose to be some implications? I just think Gomer Pyle was 100% accurate. It was just my opinion.

 

Come to think of it, when Robin Williams played Popeye, I actually thought he was Popeye. Olive Oil was so realistic and Wimpy was 100% accurate. If it wasn't for Wimpy, we wouldn't have hamburgers.

 

Probably the most accurate movie was Forest Gump. I like the part were he mooned President Johnson. For a guy who accomplished so much, we should have a holiday to remember his contributions.

How the hell could Pyle have gotten into the marines much less finished basic training? let alone not have the crap kicked out him by his platoon mates?

 

 

As for historical distortions...Bat21 was pretty fucked up. Compared to what I've read on the subject.
