I've hitted Tashkent and hitted it hard.

MY SUMMARY

VISA

People at the Embassy were really helpful and efficient. As my 7 weeks stay largely exceeded one month, the maximum for a tourist visa, they suggested me a two-monthes business visa (100 â?¬, two entries). Very easy to obtain. No questions asked nor any document required. Talk about an easy process.

ARRIVAL.

Flew Uzbekistan Airways which is IMHO quite a good company. Food was very decent, hostesses smily and nice, and plane (B 767) seemed ok. Flight was full with cultural-tourists going to Silk Road cities. No hassles at customs but excessive waiting lines as three flights arrived +/- at the same moment. They have a VIP that I didn't take but is very civilized for arrival BTW. The cost is $40 and is well worth it (not for the departure tough, which is hassles and waiting-lines free).

APARTMENTS/HOTELS

Stayed in an apartment in a nice and safe upscale area (Darhan), great location close to center, clean, air-cond, ect. Paid $ 650 for one month including weekly cleaning and ironing. www.apartment.sk.uz is a great and reliable company for apartment rentals ; Anton, the manager, is a decent and helpful guy. He charges an outrageous $15 for an airport pick-up though, wich is really expensive as taxis to center are $ 4 at max. People in Tashkent are not used to see foreigners staying in apartments BTW. Taxis and girls could not believed that I was NOT staying in a hotel. Anyhow they are not used to see foreigners (especially westerners), period.

There's a whole range of hotels, from the lavish 5 stars (Intercontinental, Radisson, Grand Mir, ect) to the backpacker guesthouse. In the center, there's some nice 3/4 stars in old renovated buildings, like Poytaht Hotel or Tashkent Palace. Many of them seem half-empty, and some others totally deserted.

CURRENCY

The official currency in Uzbekistan is the Soum of which 1300 is equal to $1 US. Biggest bill is 1000 soums. Yeah thatâ??s right. You literally have to go out with huge wads of money filling your pocketsfor a good night's out. The good news is that things in general are dirty cheap in Taskent (with the exception of the price of high quality russian pussy, which is $ 100, a bit debatable though), especially when it comes to a dinning out/clubbing lifestyle.

POPULATION

There about 3 million people in Tashkent. It's the largest city in central Asia. The three main ethnicities are Russian-ethnics, Tatar/Persian tehnics, and Asian ethnics. The ethnicities and the mixtures in Uzbekistan are truly exotic. The astonishing variety of women covers all the types you can dream about and is truly unparallelled. There is an abundance of blond Slavs (the number of 6ftish tall blondes around rivals Riga), Central Asians, Caucasians (Georgians, Armenians, etc), Tartars, and just about everything in between. The girls here are tall and curvy. Even the chicks with Asiatic features are taller, bustier, and more curvaceous than what one would normally identify with an Asian chick (that made me reassess my aversion to Asian women).

Most people speak at least a few words of english. Russian-ethnic people speak exclusively russian, and other ethnicities uzbek and russian.

THE CITY

Tashkent is the greenest city I've ever been to. Yeah, greener than Belem !!. It sort of reminds me as a green and clean Jakarta, with nicer historic buildings and without CBD though, and has a very enjoyable Soviet provincial atmosphere. Wide smooth and shadowed streets, large tree-lined avenues, dozens of truly beautiful parks with plenty of fountains, ect, it's definitively a nice city. It seems to be a liberal, mainly unreligious place and even though many guys refer to the Islamic character of Uzbekistan, I myself can't agree to any of that for Tashkent. You encounter here MUCH less of the cliche Islamic lifestyle than you would in Jakarta or KL.

There are cops (militziya) on every corner and street-crime is non-existent. Never been stopped nor hassled by cops BTW. Uzbek guys are a bit rude (pardon, hello, thanks are unknown words, and smiles non-existent) and seem a bit overfilled with testosterone but in fact all genuinely very friendly. Never, once came close to feeling threatened or unsafe. They are also genuinely honest. Never been swindled by a taxi driver nor a informal money changer.

TAXIS.

What is great in Tashkent is that almost every car is a potential taxi. You just make a sign, a car stops, you go in, say where you go, and pay 2000 soums ($ 1.5) or 3000/4000 soums late at night.

The Metro is worth a try BTW. It can compete with Moscow or SPb in term of imposing Soviet "beauty".

ACTION

Tashent is by no means a balls-out wild city and has a bit of fairly quiet and provincial atmosphere but there's not less than four huge freelancers discos (Diplomat, Juliano, Rich Club and Sky Club) with every given night 30 to 100 working girls in each spot, all wrapped up (as all women in town) in too small shorts, too short skirts, minimalist tops and stilletos. Sex is as availalle and as easy to come by as Moscow, but with south east asian prices. Its exactly the way I have heard Kiev described in the late 1990's. Regular nightlife is also good on weekends with three great upmarket clubs, Basha, KTKomba (open exclusively during summertime) and Niagara. There's also a whole host of "in" cafe and bars like JSmocker (my fav), SMI, Fashion Bar, Jhonnie Walker, Pivovar Dudek, Chelsea Pub, Irish Pub, Gasthaus, La Riva cafe, ect where to meet non-pros and find working girls. Curiously there are a lot of Turkish men everywhere in Tashkent. The reason I found is that most of the companies doing real estate development and others business in Uzbekistan seem to be Turkish or Turkish/Uzbek joint-ventures. BTW letâ??s talk about regular girls and Turkish men for a moment. For the purpose of this discussion, it is reasonable to lump women in one of two categories. Uzbeks and Russians. The regular Russian girls being Russian girls are not exactly thrilled to be screwing Turkish men so if a white bread American / Aussie / Brit / German / Canadian / French comes in the door, you get immediate attention. And BTW, these girls are not technically Russians. They are ethically Russian but most were born and raised in Tashkent and so are citizens of Uzbekistan, even if they claim themselves Russians and certainly NOT Uzbeks (as I stated above, most russian-ethnic people don't even speak Uzbek and are quite proud about it). During Soviet times, and particularly during WW2, there has been huge migrations from Russia so plenty of blond haired blue eyed beauties named Svetlana, Lena or Tatiana.

The Uzbekistan-ethnic girls are brought up in a very strict, very traditional family environment where pre-marital relations with men is seriously frowned upon. Many, especially Tatar ethnics, are excessively beautiful yet the problem is that they tend not to be working girls. I was told that it is very, very rare that a Uzbek-ethnic girl gets mixed up in prostitution in Tashkent. There are exceptions though, as I've picked-up a few Uzbek/Persian-ethnic semi-pros (others were Russians).

The good news is that there a plenty to beautiful Russian-ethnic pros all over the place most of which could hold their own in Moscow or Novossibirsk. Most speak some English but some not. What struck me was that unlike their - ugly - cousins at CM2 in Bangkok there girls are not just sitting there with that bored look just waiting for a trick. These girls work the crowd, play pool, drink and dance a lot, will engage in lively conversation and create an enjoyable atmosphere without overtly and classlessly draining your pocket ;ie, they don't do shit like order cigarettes (and stuff them in their purse for later) or other things that they would only order with a silly foreigner. Quite refreshing really. Also what is great is that they never ask for expensive cocktails but are perfectly happy with beer and vodka. Even smocking model-type dyevs often prefer fried liver to sushi and beer to expensive silly cocktails. Quite rare nowadays.

BTW, the only Westerners I saw in Tashkent were at the Irish Pub or at my table in the discos, and when my german mate wasnâ??t up to go out it was just me.

FINALLY

Will I go back to Tashkent ? ... yes, definitely. As a veteran mongerer of Latin America, Eastern Europe and South East Asia this is now my favorite place thus far. Even if it's not a 7/7 hardcore sex-marathon "wild" destination, it's an enjoyable city, safe, dirty cheap, still off the beaten tracks, swarming with outrageously stunning girls from all ethnicities, and with good bars and cafes, a decent nightlife and an active and unspoiled P4P scene. The only minus is the totally outdated FSU everyday lifestyle, with all the drawbacks, hassles and absurdities that it implies. Beside that, I personnaly I see see NO reasons for a monger for NOT going to Tashkent.

More on the ISG for more intimate stories. Not on this username though. The few clear-sighted guys on this board have bien sur already understood.

BTW the Regional forum seems to be a morgue nowadays ..things are not like they used to be.

welcome back p.....!

good to hear tashkent has more options than bishkek, which is rather run-down...will explore...which months were you there?

almaty is a very attractive city with ridiculously beautiful russian women...alas, kazachstan has oil&gas so prices (for just about everything) are high...very high...

which months were you there?

From end of July till mid-September. It was +/- 45° C and girls weared next to nothing.

Everywhere I went (bars, mall, clubs, ect) it took all my willpower just to keep my tongue from dragging the floor in those heavenly places filled with smockin hot tall and curvey dyevuskas wrapped up in too shorts skirts, too tight tops and too high stilletos.

You're surely right about Bishkek. I also heard that it was a 3rd world shithole...much worse than Tashkent or Almaty. A friend, seasoned traveller in the Stans, also told me that the diversity and beauty of the women in Tashkent blow Bishkek out of the water. What makes the ladies of Tashkent so great is the abdundancy of Russians, Tartars, Persians, Koreans, Armenians, Kazaks, etc...and all the combinations in between.

What struck him was also the lack of western foreigners in Uzbekistan, particularly the lower class often dirtbag Americans that work on or around American military installations like in Kirgizistan or Turkmenistan.

  • 3 weeks later...
hehehe ! Thanks for the post!

Thanks.

Uzbekistan is the final frontier for bedding smockin hot women (of all hues, this incl. six foot tall bodacious Lucy Liues) easily. It's now my new favorite place.

Off to Georgia and Armenia in January though. A friend's salacious reports and my affinity for exotic Slavic/Tatar mixed babes with jet-black hairs and curvy bodies (visual viagra he said) made me hop through serious hesitations to get to those unexplored Caucasus countries, but ticket is bought, apartments reserved and internet freebies contacts taken.

Georgia is an enthralling challenge indeed. I love it. :)

Are you attempting sarcasm, or is it just bitterness ?

Travelling to untapped places beyond the confines of mass prostitution is always a challenge.

Anyone (not your case it seems) who has already ventured out of Pattaya, german FKKs, TJ or any other place of the "sex tourist map" knows it.
