I seem to be in the same situation as ozybob. I've made four 30 day trips to Thailand in the past 3 years, and I'm still a newbie, relatively speaking. The information on this board has really helped a lot. Even though I lack the gift of gab, I enjoy reading the lively banter and for the most part it seems like a good group of people on this board.

To a lesser extent I worry about flaming/privacy. The surfer board? (donâ??t remember the exact user) PM to munchie I find really disturbing. I donâ??t know what the whole thing was about, but I can't really wrap my head around that kind of thinking.

Cheers,

Driftwood

Rented surfer:

some people are vindicative on the board as they can be in real life...and this rented surfer was in fact a banned member coming back to take what he perceived as his revenge.

The good point being internet is you don't risk being killed by a nutter like him.

Also, the option "ignore" is very useful in such case.

Every community has its people who can't express other opinions without being agressive, insulting and stupid, this board is not different.

Welcome to you and thanks for posting

Even though I've been on here for years, and have even contributed to the board,

I suppose that a 300 post count since 2001 makes me more of a lurker.

Quite honestly, I don't suspect that I would be able to contribute much.

My knowledge extends strictly to the Nana hotel and its freelancers, Annie's massage, Pantip plaza,

and the open air bars of Walking Street in Pattaya.

What can I say... Trips to Thailand for me are like the movie "Groundhog day".

I keep doing the same things over and over. But... I like the results!

Also, since I am only able to visit once every 2 to 3 years, any information I have will be usually out of date.

So the best I can hope to be is the "Flavor Flav" of the message board.

And I think you already have enough of those!
