The_Munchmaster Posted November 27, 2008 Report Share Posted November 27, 2008 I was in Damascus, Syria for 4 days this week and because I didn't have a local SIM and my phone service is not roaming my mobile remained off for the entire time. Looks like a bit of a dump, especially the airport, but underneath it could be OK. Quite a liberal society. Friendly girls. No prob getting alcohol. Good restaurants. Read recently some articles speaking about the development of Syria from a tourism perspective... Your little trip there reinforces my conviction that this country is evolving in the right direction slowly. Driving worst than any other country you visited??? No roaming for this specific country?? any idea why? I thought major telecom providers had deals with local providers anywhere a network is?
