rogueyam
So what about it RY, any room in your asylum? I'm perfectly happy leaving them in Gitmo. It is you leftists wetting your panties over that, not me.
Bangkoktraveler
If the people in Gitmo were guilty of something' date=' they'd be tried by now, since the US is desperate to have at least a couple of convictions (still waiting on those ). Why do Republicans claim to love America, but hate all she stands for?[/quote'] As usual you post utter garbage. Trials expose information. We're in a war where our enemies will use that information against us. You are not quite stupid enough to be unable to understand this simple point. You pretend to be that stupid because you hate America and want to see her harmed by savages. There have already been convictions. Again, you know this but you lie out of hatred for America. When you talk about Republicans you are projecting. rogie, why is your undies tied up in such a knot? Didn't they teach you in grade school that certain countries arrested people but never bring them to trial whereas we in 'Ameria' (USA) are different? We arrest and then bring them to trial. That is the difference between them and us. What you are saying is we are no different then them. Are you one of them?

youngfarang
So what's hard about just closing it and giving the inmates asylum? Where? Your house? That is the funniest post I have read on this site yet. Funny and ironic.

Central Scrutinizer
YF, "If I was suspected of terrorism then hell yeah." There is a difference between being 'suspected' and actually being a terrorist. That is why they should either be tried in court on the evidence or released due to lack of evidence to prove they are truly terrorists. You can't, as an American, believe it is okay to accuse someone of something, throw them in prison, and never try them in court using hard evidence to prove their guilt if they are truly guilty. And do it in a reasonable amount of time as well. Gitmo is a disgrace to the principles our country were founded on.
beano
Compounding the problem, those inmates who were not terrorists, or aided and abetted terrorism, have almost certainly been recruited while in Gitmo. Maybe the liberal press should make them all $100,000 book offers when they are released, Australian convicted terrorist David Hicks seems to be fielding them quite deftly after paying his debt to society. Nothing like a little money to weaken a man's beliefs. A wiser regime would have just thrown them all out of the plane over the Atlantic.

So if somebody says "youngfarang is a terrorist" you would not mine spending the rest of your life in prison? Did you know we as a country 'fought' a long Cold War because we though such practices as rounding people up in the middle of the night and sending them to Siberia was wrong? What youngfarang is agreeable with is what we used to call "Old USSR Communism".
