HeartThais
Thanks for your advice guys. I booked on the loynava. Looks like it is a set menu and also looks upscalish compared to Yok Yor. Also, I read reviews of Yok Yor and apparently they have thai karaoke on the boat and that turned me off. Flashermac
Ommagawd ... just what you want for a quiet dinner on the river. Turns out the Loy Nava is the old Tassaneeya Nava. I wondered what had happened to her. I was a guest on her around 1986, when I was writing about her to accompany an advert they'd put in the magazine I edited. If the cruise is anything like it was then, it's a winner. http://www.loynava.com/the-boat.html

..
Rip off for B1200? Hardly. Sounds pretty good to me... I think Ms Vampy & I will do this in the next couple of weeks. Looks fun. Cheers, SD

..
Whatever. Menu looks fine. If the food tastes bad, then my opinion will change... Cheers, SD
rchapstick
I would not call it a rip off. Compared to other restaurants in BKK, it is expensive. But it is a great setting and the dance troupe is excellent. I prefer spicier Thai food, but I still enjoyed the meal. It makes for a nice date night, followed by drinks at the Bamboo Bar. Flashermac
The food was all right years ago, just not very spicy. I recall there were two cruises a night - a sunset dinner cruise and a later one all in the dark. The boat sailed as far as the northern suburbs, then slowly returned. It is indeed a nice romantic trip. A colleague took his GTG girlfriend on the Tassaneeya Nava for her birthday, then got to shag her that night for the first time!
