Mentors
UDD leaves Government House The United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) rally at Government House dispersed Friday morning, with its leaders vowing to return for another protest in one month. Bangkok Metropolitan Administration staff assisted UDD members in dismantling the stage the protesters used for speeches. Police and military forces remained inside the Government House grounds. Veera Musikhapong, a prominent UDD figure, declared the group was no longer insisting the government comply with its four demands. The UDD would instead concentrate on ousting Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva at its next rally, in one month, said Mr Veera. Prime Minister Abhisit said he was not worried by the UDDâ??s declaration of an intensified anti-government campaign and another mass protest in one month. He also confirmed the government would seek the extradition of fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra from China before Monday. http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews/136924/udd-leaves-government-house they left peacefully
Mentors
PM lauds red shirt for avoiding violence Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has thanked the red-shirted people for not creating violence during their besieging of Government House last week and promised to heed their demands. Meanwhile, small groups of protesters rallied against the government in Cha-am yesterday. In his pre-recorded speech aired on NBT channel yesterday, Abhisit said he would like to thank the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship and the red-shirted people for demonstrating peacefully in front of Government House last week and for not trying to disrupt the Asean summit in Hua Hin and Cha-am. The prime minister also thanked police and soldiers for helping maintain order during the red-shirt demonstrations. Abhisit said he had not ignored the demands of the protesters. He said the legal cases against the People's Alliance for Democracy were proceeding straightforwardly, according to the system. "I believe there will be some progress in the legal cases and other issues before the red-shirted people hold another massive rally in another month," Abhisit said in the recorded speech. On the protesters' demand for political reform, Abhisit said the government and opposition had agreed to have the King Prajadhipok's Institute to lead the reform process. Abhisit said the institute's board would make a decision on Friday whether to accept the invitation to lead the reform. The prime minister added if the opposition holds a censure debate against the government in the middle of this month, he will be ready to answer the opposition's questions. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2009/03/02/politics/politics_30096926.php

..
Why would he? He is 1,000,000x more legitimate than any candidate that TRT/Puea That/etc have to offer. Or else they'd not be so afraid of the laws of the land and protest to change them... The red shirt Thaksin lovers just need to give it up! They have been proven corrupt, been penalized per the law, and get on with it! If their message is so persuasive without the bribery, then in five years it'll be great... Cheers, SD

Mentors
Mass red rally planned next week Red shirts will next Thursday hold their mass rally at Sanam Luang, billed as the ultimate showdown with the government and their protest will last "as long as it takes to get the job done", rally organisers said Thursday. Organisers, including Veera Musigapong, Natthawut Saikua and Weng Tojirakarn, have predicted the crowd of 200,000 to 300,000 red shirts to take part in the rally. "The rally is designed to oust the government and the red shirts share the same objective of the opposition movement as the Pheu Thai Party which is censuring the government in the House today," Natthawut said. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/30098335/Mass-red-rally-planned-next-week
