WorldFun
anyway even limited Thai companies don't have any real capital requirements so 1bt would suffice if that's enough to 'cover' the biz although in practice 100k is the typical/minimum used. all the 1/2M always mentioned only come about when wanting to use the company to sponsor a foreign work permit... samak
well there's guideline here for the 2 biz 'alternatives' although as mentioned they're extremely uncommon as basically they are so limited to be 'useless' I guess e.g. no trade, no services no nothing only 'research' other formal stuff so yeah probably no need for paidup capital, tax etc - http://www.dbd.go.th/mainsite/index.php?id=1569&L=1 thanks for the link. in paragraph 4 of the guidelines on page 8 of the pdf file under "The conditions to be complied by the Representative Office after the permission" it says: "there must be the minimum capital to be remitted to Thailand for the commencement of business operation as stimulated by law, which shall not be less than Baht 3 million" very strange indeed! CTO
I refrained from commenting earlier as my past experience was representative offices can;t sell locally. Seems that is still the case making it pointless for my company
WorldFun
yeah pretty much pointless for any company - see the 3Mill. req. spotted by samak anyway if still serious about going this route i'm sure inquiring with e.g. sunbelt will yield some kind of 'workaround' to the capaital & other 'issues'
buffalo_bill
Recently i did have a brief look into the Thai version of setting up companies and did come across a transaction in the company paperwork that first showed your 3 million bht paid capital which were then paid out to the director(s) as a lown right away . Meaning they were there but did never exist . Sick buffalo thing kind of .
