Guest
I keep hearing this word from my bgf 'ah lai'. Its sounds to me like a question of some sort. She seems to say it after I say something to her. Maybe it's a question like ...what? Can anyone help me please?
Pom_Jao_Choo
Doh..... I know this one :-))) 'ah lai' is the lax Thai tongue pronouncing Arai , It should actually formally be Arai Nah , or even Arai Na Krup. But you have the meaning corect. It means what is it you would like/ what is it you want.
Guest
If she'll ever say 'arai wa' it's extremely rude and you should make a face and say 'mai dii' (very bad)
Guest
on the other hand, if someone you know very well said that to you then you don't need to take offense to it....Generally agree that arai waa should be avoided as it is a crude expression...
