playtheblues
Ah , you see a contradiction but there is none, read the texts again (or better go out and take a beer at the Thermae).
TroyinEwa/Perv
Read 'em again....same conclusion. I'm dense though. Never been to Thermae before. I would sure welcome a cold beer though......mmmmmm, beer.
cardinalblue
I came away with some different takes...the direction, the music, scenery and story-telling was very good but... the acting, the language and realistic scenes were not the best picture material... Slum kids don't have perfect teeth, skin, hair, etc...make it look real even when you are using good-looking actors... If you want superb acting this year...try Sean Penn... If you want the best picture, try milk, wrestler, button, rev road, reader, etc...I think they were all better as movies... I think it was politics as to why it won. India is america's little darling presently. Lets outsource it.... CB
tomc12
I thought "Slumdog Millionaire" was easily the best of the nominations and should have won the oscar. In fact, this is the first year that I agreed with almost all the awards.
