The Rise of the Murdoch Dynasty [2020 TV limited series]
A dramatic three-part series tells the story of Rupert Murdoch's Empire, interweaving his behind-the-scenes influence on world events with the personal battle for power at the heart of his own family. Interesting viewing albeit without any direct input from any of the key players.

Clemency [2019]
A haunting film with a superb lead performance of a warder who oversees death row executions and the psychological effects it has on her life. Very engaging screenplay with a powerful ending, that doesn't fall into the usual cliches makes it worth seeing.

Sputnik (2020)

Russian, english subtitles.

On the one hand a refreshingly dour look, at the authoritarian nature of the Russian space program, on the other quite a good little story. The Alien wasn't bad either.

No spoilers for the end.

What I got from this was an entertaining watch, with a small insight into Russian attitudes. Also welcome restraint, in the shooting scenes, wherein a Hollywood film,  would have used 100 more extras with AR15s and unlimited magazines.

Invasion (2020)

Russian, English dialogue, interesting what's turning up on the Kodi add-ons, these days.

A SciFi with  reasonable budget, quite well done and worth sitting through the trippy introduction scenes.

Lots of action, set in Moscow, plenty of zap, boom, bam and pow.

The Platform (2019)

A vertical prison with one cell per level. Two people per cell. One only, food platform and two minutes per day, to feed from, up to down. An endless nightmare, trapped in The Hole.

This is very good, and with such a limited scope, an engrossing SciFi Horror

Bad Boys for Life (2020)

Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett must face off against a mother-and-son pair of drug lords who wreak vengeful havoc on their city.

Usual buddy/cop movie with  Will Smith and Martin Lawrence

Summerland [2020]
Set during World War 2 about a lonely spinster writer who takes care of a London evacuee child. An intelligent plot but this is firmly in the cliched family entertainment genre that comes over as too melodramatic for some tastes and is saved by a convincing strong lead.

John Was Trying to Contact Aliens [2020]
A short Netflix documentary that could be classified under weird shit. A lonely American in the outback spent 30 years of his life as a private deejay sending his musical tastes by radio waves into space in the hope of making contact. Eventually he makes another contact in the village. Uplifting and ultimately sad but thankfully only 15 minutes long.
