What Film (Movie) Have You Just Watched?

Recommended Posts

Endless Poetry [2016]

An award winning Chilean-French surrealist autobiography of Alejandro Jodorowsky who at 88 years old has come up with a visually jarring movie from start to end that can be a bit of a slog for non-Chilean or French speakers but worth it. Perhaps the first mainstream film to include menstruating dwarf sex!?

I just started watching the original anime version of "Ghost in the Shell", this time the English dub.

I'd seen it once before, in Japanese with subtitles, on a JAL flight.

I recently saw the live-action version, with Scarlett Johansson. She NAILED the role, mind AND body.

Letters from Baghdad [2016]

One for the history buffs, a dramatized documentary reading the letters of the British explorer Gertrude Bells time exploring the Arabian desert through the end of World War 1 until her last day in Iraq, with a backdrop of some fine archival footage of the era.

The Gauntlet, Clint Eastwood, 1977.

Downloaded it (yeah, naughty boy here!) and watched it last night.

Really enjoyed it as I do of most cop / '70s movies, especially those with Clint Eastwood. What I laughed at was the mix of corny dialogue, the amount of profanity and no sign of any political correctness.

Like I say, I really enjoyed it - a solid 7/10 for me.

Wakefield (2016) - A man's nervous breakdown causes him to leave his wife and live in his attic for several months. IMDB

Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Garner. Quite good this, worth a watch.

A Coss recommended movie.

Good, solid movie that left me wishing for the days when the news really went after the news!

Hounds Of Love [2016]

Brilliantly directed fictional Australian psychological thriller of sex and depravity by two Perth serial killers in 1987 will leave you feeling rather mucky.
