A New Zealand honey-mooner on Indonesia's resort island of Bali died after he got involved in a fight with bar staff at the weekend. Police said Sean Keith William, 22, got into a scuffle with a bartender and two bouncers during a night out with his wife at Bounty Discotheque at Kuta beach. He died after being hit with a glass in the head.

Good....another moron starting a fight...

22 years old dumb tourist, I don't feel the least sorry for this kind of scumbag, world is better without him. (and the wife should have chosen a guy who is not a violent prick)

----------------------------------

"The victim was drunk. He had thrown a glass at a bartender who told him to exchange his beverage voucher at the cashier. The bartender hurled a glass back at him which hit his left temple," he said.

"Two security officers who tried to break them up ended up kicking and hitting the victim too."

Mr Suwetra said the couple went back to their hotel but Mr William failed to wake up in the morning.

--------------------------------

According to several witnesses, William was involved in a pub brawl prior to his death, Suwetra said.

When his request for a drink discount was refused, he allegedly became highly agitated and began running amok, throwing empty beer bottles around the bar.

Honeymoon in NZ = cool fights?

:neener::cover:

My concept of honeymoon: Quite, comfortable places and too busy with the wife to even go have a drink somewhere

I suppose that honeymoons in NZ are a bit similar to honeymoons here -> already so pissed at the wife that you prefer to get drunk

:cover::wave:

Drogon that is really a stupid opinion! The guy was drunk, but it seems he didn't hurt anybody, but was killed by the staff.

The staff was extremely badly trained, all of them. This bar should be closed immediately since the bartender/bouncers are a hazard for the guests. Their job is to defuse a situation in which drunk and/or aggressive guests are involved.

If the staff in other bars would react like them we would see hundreds of dead guests every weekend all over the world.

Just think again: killing a drunk guest - in a location which is making money of making guests drunk - for throwing a glass...

I am glad that in my youth the bouncers in the discotheques (punk/ new wave) I went to were much more professional when someone threw a barstool or acted aggressively otherwise. Usually the bouncers/bartenders were there in seconds, they immobilized the guest and escorted him more or less friendly to the door.

A death is certainly stupid...my opinion might not be very "nice" but I will not change it.

This sort of "death" due to a brawl in a bar/disco is also quite frequent in the west...

Yes, I do agree that many bouncers/bar staff back here are professional and when violence happens -> they usually are able to calm things without killing anyone.

My best mate at university was working part time as a bouncer -> he never hurt anyone or had any problems...

But this is Bali, where the bouncers/bar staff have probably as much training as the ones here on the costa blanca or costa del sol (thugs without any training).

Germany has certainly very stict laws regulating the bouncers jobs, training and in case they "mess up" -> they will get into serious troubles.

Still, I believe the 22 years old guy was a nutter whom the world will not miss -> call it dumb luck for him.

I certainly don't feel sorry for him nor wouldn't I feel sorry if it had been a 22 years old nutter dying in Phuket in similar circumstances...

There are far enough good people in this world who better deserve our pity or help..
