Guest
Hi, I will be in Thailand for 3 weeks and need to be reachable 24/7 from home. I have the Ericsson T28. Can anyone give me the address of a reliable place where I could get it reprogrammed for AIS? And...will I be able to use it again back home? Other possibility: buy a cheap used thai network compatible GSM. Any address for that as well? Thanks for your help.
Guest
The T 28 World works in Thailand....Now, Does your home provider have a GSM service. When I get off the palne I just simply turn my phone on, off and on again and I get a log in with AIS Thai. I remember that you can the T28 World can be programed for auto search or manual select. If you can't find it I still have a T28 World in my desk. I changed over to the Sam Sung N105 because the T28 is a bit on the old side Tech wise, but so am I! adikgede
Since you already have the phone you and you intend to by the card why don't you try Settings->Networks->Select Networks. You should get a list of networks and it will be indicated if you can register on a particular network.
Guest
The thing is I don't want to use my national network SIM card because they will charge me too much for making and receiving calls. So I want to buy a pre-paid SIM Thai card when I'm there, but I have read that those cards can only be used with GSM purshased in Thailand. In some place, it is possible to unlock/reprogram the GSM for Thai SIM card compatibility.
Guest
I read many posts recommending MBK. If you look around, prices are approx. THB 500.
