Guest
Check the AIS Thai Web site and they'll give you some options. I use my home moble as a roamer which is very reasonable Lots of options...Just make sure the phone is on the AIS Thai list...Some GSM phone work better that others! adikgede
I don't know what the prices are like at the airport but you might look into renting. Others will correct me, and might also know the price, but on your left across form the taxi and hotel counters as you are leaving the airport. Pom Michael
You can buy a new phone for THB 3,900 and get THB 2,000 on the prepaid card. Normally it comes with THB 500 when you buy it, and the rest a week or so later - so this may effect your actual cost. www.thaisecondhand.com
Old Hippie
Any idea how long the prepaid card lasts? And, can you make and receive international calls with it?

Guest
Hippie-- I think that AIS's One-2-call is an excellent system. When you run out of $$ you can still RECEIVE calls on your phone, (but you can't MAKE calls until buy more $$). The reception is average, not fantastic but not horrible either (depends on where you're calling from and the phone model you bought). Overall, I give it very high marks. It's also a great way to help someone "control" their mobile phone expenses. I've never had problems calling TO a 1-2 call phone either. For the current time OUTGOING international calls can't be make directly on the 1-2 call system. You can get one of those CAT cards and call that way though (calling a 1-800 #, PIN# and international number)... --UPSer
