checkbin
Anyone know where in BKK I can buy a new VCR (VHS format) or get old VHS video put onto DVD? There used to be a place in Phom Prong that did video conversion but it done gone. Thanks
DocThai
This was a nightmare for me a while back. My VHS tapes are NTSC (American) and won't play on anything here (PAL). Still I searched for a month to find a compatible player with no luck. I finally had one (dual format) sent from USA so that I could do my own converting to DVD with Pinnacle Instant DVD Recorder software. Long process as I still can't view the VHS on a Thai TV, only through the software on my computer. There is a shop on third floor of Pantip that does converting, but its expensive if you have a number of tapes (400 per hour).
shygye
I thought many Thai TVs were both NTSC/PAL compatible.
checkbin
Thanks! Most of the tapes I've got are replaceable on DVD, but I have three home-made downloads from TV that are definitely not. I'll fight my way past the porn sellers at Panthip soon as I can and post the result.
