Make everything legal and we can get rid of the police, FBI etc.

Flash,

I'd amend that to make MOST everything legal. Not murder, rape, kidnapping, theft, etc. But the 'vice' laws are complete bullshit in a free land of free people, consenting adults. And tax it for the benefit of all to pay for the things we want and need as a modern society: schools, roads, public transport, etc.

Most of the laws we waste our time and money on are total nonsense, and are there due to antiquated religious bullshit.

Legalize gambling, drugs, prostitution, sex between consenting adults, etc. Why is gamblng illegal? Why are most soft drugs illegal (alcohol is a drug)? Legalize this and tax it. And get the mafia out of it and get all that money spent in the black market out in the open and taxable. Huge tax income there! Prostitution? Legalize it, get it safe, behind closed doors and off of the streets, consenting adults, safe for the punters and safe for the women and men wanting to do it as a 'job'. It's all about freedom of choice ain't it? And a bonanza in taxable income if done right. Drugs? Pot, mushrooms, peyote, coke, lsd, etc. Up to you if you want to do them in the privacy of your own home (but illegal to drive under the influence or be publicly intoxicated). Make it legal, and tax it. Gay rights? Give it to them. Who cares what consenting adults do in their own bedroom in private? Polygamy? Up to you. Who gives a fuck how many wives or husbands someone wants to have and enter into a legal marriage agreement with? I don't. Why do others actually give a fuck? Religious beliefs? Horseshit.

For me freedom means an adult has the choice to do what they want in these areas, areas that mainly harm no one and should/would not even be illegal if it wasn't for religious zipperheads who want to impose their morals and religious beliefs on us all. They have freedom of religion, their choice, but they do not have the freedom (or should not in a true democratic free society) to impose their religious bullshit on everyone. Freedom of religion, and freedom FROM religion is how it is supposed to be.

And tax any religion that spouts off on politics from the pulpit or tries to influence the laws of the land.

JMHO.

In "Milk" they had their gay hero and he got a movement started and gay "rights" established, so now the gays want to do it again?

The people have spoken (voted)...time to move on!

I highly doubt they will just 'move on'. More likely they will regroup and try again. Just like all other interest groups that fail to get the laws passed that they want. It'll be up for a vote again in the future. The more states that do approve gay rights laws the more likely they will win in Cali. the next time. It's all just a matter of time. Younger voters with less prejudices will be able to vote, the older voters will die off. Just a matter of time really.

You can't have the people vote on human rights issues. If so, we'd *still* have states that refuse to allow mixed marriages and that did enforce Jim Crow laws.

Cheers,
