Hi,

Agree. Great place to visit. My parents really enjoyed the day there.

My Dad even startled some of the guys working there when he just walked into the open-air woodwork shop and started checking out what they were doing. My Dad's a carpenter and as such interested in this.

After I explained the guys were really friendly and talkative.

Sanuk!

A few years ago there was a Sunday river boat tour that went down the Chao Phaya to the RT Navy Museum, then came back up the Chao Phaya to a landing where passengers were bused to the Erawan Museum and then the Ancient City. A buffet meal was included at Muang Boran. Finally, you returned by river to the landing west of the Grand Palace. It wasn't expensive at all. Really a shame they stopped that tour.

actually I'd plan in a lunch or dinner at bang poo instead which is at the sea with a nice restaurant there not far away from ancient city or crocodile farm for that matter ;)

alternatively eat at the river at pak nam where the 'island' in the chaya phraya not far from the mouth can be seen or even visited :hmmm:
