Palatkik
I haven't been to RamaIX cafe for years. Is it still same format a la Villa Cafe of dining, stage show of slapping trays on heads and foreigners being asked "hello where you come from?" BritTim
Years ago, Rama IX Cafe was fun. It tended to be busy, with comedy acts most of the evening and tolerable fill-in music in between (though few of the large stable of singers could actually sing). I went there for the first time in over a year on a Saturday about a month ago. It was very disappointing. We were there about three hours and saw, perhaps, 30 minutes of comedy. The number of singers was down by about 90% (same as ever, they could not actually sing). With the long waits for the comedy acts, they had to be continuously rotated. Thus, we kept seeing the same lousy singers many times. Not surprisingly, this previously very popular joint was quiet on a Saturday night. What are the best Thai comedy places these days? WorldFun
I guess our resident comedian (wearth) must not have been performing at rama 9 that night?
