He promised health care for millions of uninsured and promised that the middle class would not have their taxes raised. Rahm Emanuel, Barack Obama's White House chief of staff, pegged the increase at $4 trillion recently. The story I've linked says it's actually 4.97 trillion. 4 or 5 trillion? Who's counting? Another story I've seen says Obama's debt since office will be 1.43 trillion in fiscal 2010. The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the federal deficit would hit $1.43 trillion in fiscal 2010 under Obama's budget plan, slightly higher than it had previously forecast. Obama's debt I guess a person could look anywhere to find whatever number he wants to make his case but no matter where you look.....both of these guys have driven/are driving the U.S. into the ground economically. I think I went off topic there (apologies) but I agree with you. GHB lied while looking into our eyes about taxes so I guess Obama is no different. (What a surprise!!) dean Posted July 9, 2009 Report Share Posted July 9, 2009 Given the choice of going up against the unions and taxing people with excessive health insurance policies, Obama/democrats in congress looks like they will go after people making more than $200,000 (whom he already promised that their taxes will be going up, now more so). I still feel that taxing health care benefits is the fairest way to go, By the way, that speach by Biden yesterday was BS, as the money given up by hospitals over the next 10 years is what they would have saved anyway by not having to cover the cost of uninsured patients. I really think that the only real goal of the Obama administration is to get a health insurance bill passed this year. What actually goes into that bill isn't nearly as important. Right on the money there ! This Congress has never heard about "look before you leap". The celebrated drug coverage plan enacted under Bush is costing about 3 times the projected amount (like all government estimates). Anybody want to wager that the Dems health plans wouldn't end up doing the same? Yeah...tax the "rich" some more. :thumbdown: This group of tax enthusiasts are considering all sorts of new taxes I'd never heard of. Dems stay up nights, I think, trying to fuck over everybody with taxes. They hit smokers...when folks stop smoking, do they cut the programs that were funded by tobacco taxes? Hell no. Tax alcohol. Yeah, let's tax the addict some more. Sin taxes, pure and simple. They gonna tax condoms? How about bath houses? (Ramon might lose his job.) Soft drinks are on the table. OMG! Bust...yeah, spending went through the roof under Bush. OH..you will have medicare when u retire...if it is viable after the Demoncrats legalize 12 million wets and give them access to it. As for hating Obama, I don't hate the man. Like most centrists and independents (and even quite a few Demoncrats), I like the guy but not his policies.
