Hugh_Hoy
Okay, you expats, need a refresher on this one. A few years ago, a Thai lady I know in the US used a term to describe how a Thai guy would indicate his restrained desire for a pubescent, but maybe not of "legal" age, girl. They way she described it's use, it wasn't said in a way that a guy would mean that he was ready to bed the girl right then, but maybe when she got a bit older. It would go something like this: the guy would put his arm around the shoulders of the girl, kind of wink at others and smile...and say "awe-awe" or "aa-aa". In the former pronounciation the "a" would be pronunced as in "awe". In the second pronuciation, the "a" would sound just like the "a" in "cat". So which is it? I forget. (BTW, I tried it on a couple of bar girls a few years back and they got a kick out of it.) Anybody have knowledge of this? (Maybe you can query your wives or girlfriends?) Dexi
heard this term "or-or" ( short high tone ) used to describe youngish(early teen )girls....not sure if it applies to boys also...
Pescator
Yep, that`S the way I would transliterate it too. I my language we use the exact same "expression" with kids to tell them that something is a no go.
MooNoi
I have heard "sao sao" used as well. ("Sao" being girls, "Sao Sao" being younger girls). So I *THINK* this is acceptable as well. eg. Bai nai? Answer: Mong sao sao! :smirk:
Boo Radley
AWE AWE à ¹€à ¸Âà ¹Šà ¸²à ¸°à ¹†One dictionary I looked in translates it as sexy teenager, nymphet. Sounds like AW (but short vowel length and high tone). [English pronunciation of AWE].
Hugh_Hoy
Yep...this is what I've pronounced a few times while cuddling some bargirls in the last 3 weeks in BKK (genuine sexy and presumably 18+). They've all got a chuckle out of it. "Sow-sow" has resulted in similar responses. HH
