I got "Thai for Beginners" "Thai for Intermediate Learners" and the books, put the cds on my UBS memory stick connected to my car stereo, brilliant to get the intonation, and endlesss repetition. Some of the sentences I know by heart:

"Noi sia tua meua ajoo sip peet."

Noi lost her virginity when she was 18

My (female) teacher kept a totally straight face when we got to this line in the book, obviously a normal statement to make.

Ever since, every Thai woman I bed, I ask "How old were you when you lost your virginity?"

Surprisingly most say around 17, 18, some 19

You can very easily download these - for free - through torrents or on a program like soulseek.

Might even find Thai language courses that you have never seen for sale. As far as I know the only one that does not work through a pirate type download is Rosetta.

The money saved can be spent on prostitutes or alcohol or even donated to charity if you prefer.
