UK only developed economy still in recession

ABC-TV reported this depressing statistic tonight - apparently its the deepest recession since records began. Given the images we were served during the 80s recession, that boggles the mind -

At least you dont have to watch Maggie Thatcher threatening the unions this time around.

Yeah, it's shite. Only just below recovery, but still in recession. Hardly surprising really. The UK is in for a long term, very slow recovery.

Things need to change there radically.

I kinda think things need to go back a little. The UK's bread and butter going forward will be finance. And that only by virtue of being in a timezone that overlaps least with New York and Tokyo.

Ok - there are lies, damned lies and statistics, but I'm hopeful that the dickheads who started most of this read those stats and start lending again. Not for casinos on the strip in Vegas (a graveyard, apparently) but to small businesses who actually want to hire folk to produce something other than misery.
