gobbledonk
Unlike dot bomb, I had thought many IT companies were riding the current crisis out reasonably well. We were about to sign contracts with these guys when they sacked everyone bar the 4 directors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verari_Systems Plenty of unhappy ex-employees out there, and it seems that it was the same old story : company started making money, soon everyone had titles and expense accounts and Disneyland ended when the banks decided they didnt want to keep financing the ride. For those asking whether business has learnt anything from the crisis, I think this is one illustration of just how little some of us have learnt. 250+ people out on the street might not seem like a large number compared to Enron and others, but tell that to their families. HeartThais
The reason the rest of the world will never catch up with the US... while we are all obsessed in a culture of envy, the US is the only country that I have ever had the pleasure of working/living in, that promotes it constructively.
