Pom Michael Posted January 28, 2010 Report Share Posted January 28, 2010 It is possible that they meant to have a Anti-Virus, but also a anti-malware program to run on demand. I believe I have Norton 2009 running as the main anti-virus, but then run Spybot and Anti-Malware on a schedule. The best program to have is CCleaner and have it run automatically on shutdown - this one program will keep your hard drive cleared of the massive amount of "crap" that is left during browsing. Question was because I was reading some sites that advised having "levels" of security - i.e. more than one program so as to catch all the bugs. When I tried it, the PC slowed to crawl. Never run two virus scanners at the same time. If you have two scanners installed, make sure that one of them is switched off. Run the second scanner only manually for additional security/cleaning.
