Dexi
Hi,I burned lots of photos and videos onto a disc so I could store them without taking up space on the pc.This was about 6 months ago.Just tried retrieving them and the disc doesnt play...WTF...Tried other discs and there ok.Luckily most of the stuff was still in the re-cycle bin so am starting to burn them onto a new DVD disc which seems ok.What could cause this....the cold weather
shygye
Did you verify the disc after you burned it? Sunlight, scratches, gunk, etc. can adversely affect a disc. Did you try cleaning it?
carlton68
Lee, did you insert the disc, open Windows Explorer and click on your DVD drive? If not please try.
ALHOLK
Sunlight, scratches, gunk, etc. can adversely affect a disc. Did you try cleaning it? So can low grade discs. If you want to keep data over a long time always buy brand name discs.
Dexi
Tried cleaning it but makes no difference.Usually, when the disc is inserted there is a slight whirring noise (disc spinning ?)then the message box appears offering to display the contents of the dvd drive. Now when the disc is inserted it takes a while (30 secs)before spinning then making clicking noises. It wont play or even recognise that there is a disc inserted. The new disc seems ok though so maybe its just a fault caused by a low quality disc (Tesco own brand pack of 5)....
