Pom Michael is right, there are all kinds of ways to stop this farce in a peaceful way but..it takes a lot of time and it doesn't look like the violent red core will give up.

The pure military option is a political suicide for Thailand as it would look like a second Tiananmen and even if they did it, they would only get rid of the road blocks and the strongholds...

Total containment and cutting off completely the supplies to the strongholds is the best solution -> they would give up pretty quickly without need to use force.

(but then don't release them immediately after)

still they would have the problem of the reds outside...

When the real action starts:

a. Divide / flank the red guards away from the protesters. Basically pincher seal the WTC intersection between Police Hospital and BTS Chitlom station. Heavy presence and live rounds against anyone trying to come at the police/army - the army putting up a defensive line and anyone offensively coming after them (from the right side) cannot pretend to be doing anything except trying to fight. Non-lethal force on the left side (towards Rama 4).

Right now - 22:45 - sounds like something is starting around this area.

Drogon - yes, total containment is probably next now (if tonight's gunfights are not the end game).

No one should be left in that area (basically Wireless to Rajaprasong, from Rama 4 to Phetchburi) anyways - if your still trying to stay in your condo/office there now then your seriously in trouble. Turn off all utilities and completely isolate the zone - push back the Red Zone borders to that zone.

If they split, that is democracy in action, now isn't it?

Why are the Reds not protesting at the door of Newin's and Barnhart's strongholds - should they not be angry at them for changing sides and allowing the democrats to form this government?

Sorry - don't want to bring logic into the argument.

I guess the Reds aren't totally stupid. The area they chose is a more strategic location. It's high profile and they are less vulnerable.
