Flashermac
A friend has asked for help. A friendly young lady gave him a not so friendly bug. Anyone have any experience with it? Chula Hospital diagnosed it as a Coagulase Negative Staphylococcus that appears to be resistant to treatment. He then tried Bamrungrad... they couldn't find anything and all he got was a big bill. Advice???

The_Munchmaster
Sheyla Hershey’s 38KKK Breasts Are Infected And, she could lose them. The breast implants that earned a Texas woman the coveted title of “World’s Largest Breasts†now have landed her in a hospital, fearing for her life. Sheyla Hershey is no stranger to plastic surgery, claiming she has had more than 30 procedures. But her last breast augmentation in pursuit of claiming the largest breasts in the world has given her a dangerous staph infection in both breasts. Hershey’s doctors told her they are concerned the infection could spread to her bloodstream, meaning those 38KKK breasts could cost the 30-year-old Brazilian model her life. tomc12
You don't have enough information. Coagulase negative staph is frequently found on normal skin and doesn't usually cause problems. When they do, it is usually related to IV sites. One hospital finding it and another not may be a problem with contamination in the first hospital. Chula Hospital diagnosed it as a Coagulase Negative Staphylococcus that appears to be resistant to treatment. He then tried Bamrungrad... they couldn't find anything and all he got was a big bill. Advice??? If the infection is growing very fast, could be dangerous. Is it painful? Like being eaten alive? As for MRSA type staph infections, it takes about 1 week to get results back if it is or isn't.
ozpharlap
I have a friend who had one of those very large steam rollers (to lay bitumen) fall on him. The hospital actually ended up saving his leg, but then, he got staph and they had to chop it off. A very sad situation, after being told they had saved his leg, but a week later saying they had to remove it in order to save his life.
TheCorinthian
I am confused, are you saying one hospital said he had it and another said he did not? The answer seems obvious: go to a third and see what they say. Then proceed as directed.
