You would think we should have been able to win the war in Afghanastan after their resources had almost been depleted after being bounced around by the USSR? Well, thats the issue. We are not fighting it like you fight a war to win. Just like in Vietnam. And remember, the Russians were winning! Flashermac Posted August 17, 2010 Report Share Posted August 17, 2010 The US forces never lost a battle in South Vietnam. Congress just got tired of it and told the GIs to come home. Hanoi built up its forces and then overran the South two years later. If the US and allies pull out of Afganistan, expect something similar. Probably wouldn't take two years though. Six months maybe?
