I was trying to tell the GF. Silk is usually referred to as Phaa Mai. Cloth made of Silk. But Mai à ¹„à ¸«à ¸¡ used without the prefix is perfectly understandable too. preahko Posted November 29, 2010 Report Share Posted November 29, 2010 Actually, real silk doesn't burn, new or old, which is the time-honored test (pull off a few strands and hold them to your lighter) to tell if the fabric a vendor (or tailor) is trying to pass off as silk is or not, haha... Pure silk is not the best of material for clothing anyway. The students used to give us silk neckties. Wear the necktie a few times and it became soiled ... and virtually uncleanable!
