Professor Arrested for Having a "Suspicious" Bagel on a Plane

A Florida professor was arrested and removed from a plane Monday after his fellow passengers alerted crew members they thought he had a suspicious package in the overhead compartment.

That "suspicious package" turned out to be keys, a bagel with cream cheese and a hat.

Ognjen Milatovic, 35, was flying from Boston to Washington D.C. on US Airways when he was escorted off the plane for disorderly conduct following the incident.

Monday's incident is another example of other passengers essentially becoming the authority on terrorist activity on planes.

Recently, passenger complaints have resulted authorities taking action against innocent passengers who went to the bathroom too often on a flight and who were just being annoying.

In the hyper-sensitive world of flying, sneezing too often could get you kicked off a flight and questioned by the FBI.

Milatovic, who is a mathematics and statistics professor at the University of North Florida, was minding his own business when other passengers turned into super sleuths.

[color:red]Passengers reported hearing strange noises coming from a plastic bag. State police said later that the bag contained a set of keys,

a bagel with cream cheese, some other small food items, a hat and a wallet.[/color] :surprised:

When confronted by the US Airways crew about his "suspicious package," Milatovic got on his cell phone. The crew asked him to hang it up and sit down. When he refused, he was cuffed.

Milatovic was also charged with interfering with the operation of an aircraft.

I guess the Republicans in Congress are going to do the right thing and turn in their health care as a prelude for their desire to get rid of Obama Care.

A second person denied transplant coverage by Arizona under a state budget cut has died' date=' with this death "most likely" resulting from the coverage reduction, a hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday.

University Medical Center spokeswoman Jo Marie Gellerman said the patient died Dec. 28 at another medical facility after earlier being removed from UMC's list for a liver transplant needed because of hepatitis C.

Gellerman cited medical privacy requirements in declining to release any information about the patient.

Arizona reduced Medicaid coverage for transplants on Oct. 1 under cuts included to help close a shortfall in the state budget enacted last spring.

Officials at the Tucson, Ariz., hospital said the patient's death "most likely" resulted from Arizona's scaling back coverage for transplants, she said...[/quote']

This lousy bastard obviously did something to get Hep C, drank too m uch, drugs, dangerous sex etc...why should we the tax payers have to pay to fix him? It would be different if I needed the transplant of course...

Nobody promised us a life free of health problems. And nobody, including good-doers, should promise that your neighbor will be forced to pay for your problems. A person's health is not addressed in the Bill of Rights.

You seem to be of the opinion that it a government program does not directly benefit you, then you should not have to pay for it. Does that mean that for the 99.9999% of Californians that got no benefit from your employment by the state, and by the 100% of Californians that get no benefit from your retirement, that we should just drop all of your benefits and ask for our money back??

Oh, and there is nothing in the bill of rights that guarantees your pension either.

One of the chaps who wants a lung transplant was a heavy equipment driver. He became disabled. Couldn't pay for his health insurance and now waits - for what looks like his death.

The money needed for transplants in Arizona is 1.5 million dollars. The Govenor probably has blown that much and more in her debates about illegals and birth rights.

Is HH is willing to get rid of another socialize health program - Veterans Administration?
