Bangkoktraveler
Obama's birth certificate is important while the country drifts away into a comma instead of looking where she will get her next fix (borrow money to run country).
Nervous God
FARK - since before he was elected the birth certificate has been on line! But lets not let the truth get in the way of a good story. By the way, Oboma is a great disappointment
Hugh_Hoy
I could see how somebody who actually believed all the shit he was saying when in campaign mode would be disappointed. Kind of like finding out there is no Santa Claus, eh? HH
unit731
According to some theories above, Senator John McCain could not be president either. "According to Romney family lawyers it doesn't matter if Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, Kenya, or even Paris: Because his mother was an American (and not even Donald Trump questions that), he is eligible to be President. The Romney lawyers investigated this question in the 1960s, when Mitt Romney's father, Governor George Romney of Michigan, was vying for the Republican presidential nomination. George Romney had been born in a Mormon colony in Chihuahua, Mexico, as his grandfather moved there with his wives in the 1880s after polygamy was outlawed in the U.S. While some opponents nicknamed him "Chihuahua George," his suitability for the highest office because of his birth was never seriously challenged. The reason his campaign faltered was because of his shift in position on the Vietnam War: He went from being a supporter to opposing it, infamously claiming to have been "brainwashed" by military officials. After that Richard Nixon's lead in the polls more than doubled. Article II of the U.S. Constitution states that "No person except a natural born citizen ... shall be eligible to the Office of President," and so the question is: Does natural born citizen mean born a citizen or born in the U.S.? The Founding Fathers were of course aware of both jus soli (birthright citizenship) and jus sanguinis (citizenship through parentage), but deliberately wrote "natural born" rather than something like "born on U.S. soil," arguably to include children born to U.S parents outside the country." This article only emphasis the point that some have so much hate that they would like to see their representatives spend [color:red]even more time[/color] chasing ghost (Obama's birth certificate instead of trying to come up with a budget. This is one of the hardest budgets to reconcile. $2.2 trillion comes in revenues and $3.8 trillion is allocated for spending. Our military budget is about 30 - 33% of the money we bring in - $665 billion. Health and Human Services, Social Security and the money the Treasury spends paying off debts is about equal to what the country brings in which is $2.2 trillion. Bangkoktraveler
Friday is coming and it does not look both parties are going to reconcile their differences and come up with a budget. Sad state of affairs.
Steve
the goverment wants less emission from cars right? They encourage us to use fuel efficient cars and give us incentives to buy hybrids, right? Well, I just heard on the radio Congress is seriously looking at taxing us per mile driven. The resson is they are seeing trends that indicate tha we are buying less gas at the pump (high price, some moving to public transportation, hybrids, less SUVs, more fuel efficient cars, etc) so people will(are) buying less gas and therefore less taxes from gas. Ain't that some sh*t. The reason is that the money is needed to fix and repair roads, etc.
Steve
FARK - since before he was elected the birth certificate has been on line! But lets not let the truth get in the way of a good story. By the way, Oboma is a great disappointment Even if he was proven to born here without a doubt there is still a debate of denying citizen ship to others who were proven without a doubt to be born here...if their mother wasn't invited formally. While some of those same folks weren't opposed to a serious campaign several years ago to changing the rules to become President if you're foreign born when it was suggested Arnold Schwarzenegger would make a good President. Still scratching my head over that one. Edited April 14, 2011 by Guest
