Romney was in a can't win situation with the NAACP, just as if Obama was giving a speech to Tea Party or fundamental religioius right crowd.

If he was booed, I am disappointed. He's a guest. Its no secret the organization and its members weren't going to agree. Why invite him or accept an inviation to speak, whichever it was, if all you're going to do is boo?

I'll give Romney credit for going. It was brave. Booing detracts from the organization's reputation.

Not really true, in that those who have their own private insurance have already seen their premiums increase and they will continue to increase. As for those who are tied to Medicare, while benefits may not decrease, the premiums will increase. So the middle class gets it in the ass by Obamacare. All of this shit cuz maybe 15% of the population doesn't have health insurance. Lots of reasons for that. In the meantime, lots of luck finding a doctor who will accept Medicare and these "exchange" policies. Many already do not accept those patients and even more limit the number of patients they see who are so covered. Obama doesn't give a shit. He and his socialist fucksticks don't have a clue what they are doing. Well, maybe they do. Put em all up against the wall. Obama has told so many lies and half-truths about his "signature" legislation, that it's tough to keep up. A couple of them are addrssed in the first 2 sentences above.

One thing the Republicans have failed to acknowledge is when

people go to the hospital and forget to pay

and some of those people file bankruptcy (which means

they don't have to pay most if not all of their

other bills) - it is the rest of us who have to

pay for these problems.

No one pays penalty if they already have heath insurance.

You can dance around this fact. But it is fact.

You're right and wrong. Nobody pays a "TAX" if they already have health insurance. But even those who do have or buy insurance, are "taxed/penalized" via increased premiums.

You can't dance around that.

Strange, in Europe health care is comparably cheap, because all people are insured. This should be possible in the USA as well if millions more would join health care.

And what of the medical professions' salaries? Are they as high in as the USA? And does an organisation like the AMA exist that does all it can to keep more medical schools opening to produce doctors? :hmmm:

Team USA To Be Decked Out in Uniforms Made in China

ABC News' Sharyn Alfonsi reports:

They are the pride of America - Team U.S.A. - and for the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics in London, they'll be proudly wearing red, white and blue, from beret to blazer.

The classic American style was crafted by designer Ralph Lauren. But just how American is it?

When ABC News looked at the labels, it found "made in China."

Every item in the uniforms that the U.S. athletes will be wearing at the opening ceremony in London will carry an overseas label.

Nanette Lepore, one of the top U.S. fashion designers, said she was shocked that none of the uniforms had been made in the States. Further, Lepore said that it was "absolutely" possible that the athletes could have been outfitted in U.S.-made clothing. She said U.S. manufactures could have easily made the uniforms - and for less.

Here's how much the uniforms cost:

Men:

Beret - $55

Tie - $125

Belt - $85

Shirt - $425

Blazer - $795

Trousers - $295

Shoes - $165

Women:

Beret - $55

Scarf - $58

Belt - $85

Shirt - $179

Skirt - $498

Blazer - $598

"Why shouldn't we have pride not only in the American athletes, but in the American manufacturers and laborers who are the backbone of our country?" Lepore said to ABC News. "Why? What's wrong? Why was that not a consideration?"

ABC News reached out to Lauren and the U.S. Olympic Committee and asked why American-made clothing had not been selected for the athletes.

The committee said: "The U.S. Olympic team is privately funded and we're grateful for the support of our sponsors. We're proud of our partnership with Ralph Lauren, an iconic American company."

It seems the push to open new medical schools started in 2006. Before that no new schools were opened in the 1980's and 1990's. http://www.ama-assn.org/amednews/2010/03/29/prl20329.htm

This is just from personal observation and I have no hard stats to back it up, but every country I've been to and I've been to about 15 or so different countries if I had to take a guess and those vary from industrialized countries to third world.

In every one of those countries, including America, I found a few common traits amongst all doctors, 1) they made a wage that was considered upper middle class in that country, and lived better than 90% of the people in that country 2) it was a socially respected profession and they were adequately trained for the routine medical things, things that most people suffer every where. Not taking about brain surgery, the run of the mill maladies.

While American doctors made more than everyone else, I don't think it translated into better medical care. Many folks run off to India, Thailand and Mexico for medical care and often are treated better if you take into account time allowed for recovery, comfort, etc. and the actual procedure was just a good as America. American hospitals rush you out of the hospital. What used to be a 3 day medical visit you now have to go home the same day. So, in my estimation its gotten WORSE.

As I was writing this I took a minute to google a couple links.
