Rick Perry...how about telling the whole story of why he made the veto...azzhole media...one has to

go to Alex Jones to get the full story...

I'm not a fan of Perry but in this case, the Dems and media are wrong...IMO...

Governor's attorneys argue veto power used in accordance with state Constitution

A Texas grand jury is moving forward with charges against longstanding Texas Governor Rick Perry, who is accused of abusing his veto power to strong-arm a political opponent into resigning.

Perry sought the resignation of Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, who was criticized heavily following her April 2013 DWI arrest. Lehmberg was filmed by police behaving belligerently, issuing threats to officers and lashing out in fits of rage. Her blood alcohol level was three times the allowable state limit.

Watch how she acted in jail:

Despite her arrest and subsequent humiliation, though, Lehmberg did not resign.

Perry then promised to veto funding for Texas’ Public Integrity Unit, a department specializing in investigating elected officials headed up by Lehmberg. When Lehmberg still didn’t resign, Perry followed through.

“Despite the otherwise good work the Public Integrity Unit’s employees, I cannot in good conscience support continued state funding for an office with statewide jurisdiction at a time when the person charged with ultimate responsibility of that unit has lost the public’s confidence,†Perry said at the time regarding the veto.

“This unit is in no other way held accountable to state taxpayers, except through the state budgetary process. I therefore object to and disapprove of this appropriation.â€

Dems vowed revenge, and now the governor faces indictments on two felony charges: abuse of official capacity, which carries a penalty of five to 99 years, and coercion of public servant, punishable by two to 10 years imprisonment, according to the Associated Press.

Perry’s atttorneys were quick to issue a statement saying the governor used his veto power in accordance with the Texas Constitution./...

The alcohol consumption of the lady in question has nothing to do with the civil charges against Perry.

"Grand jurors charged Perry, 64, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public servant, a third-degree felony. The first charge carries a punishment of 5-99 years and a fine of up to $10,000. The second charge is punishable by 2-10 years and a fine of up to $10,000.

The indictment stems from Perry’s threat last summer to withhold $7.5 million in state money from Lehmberg’s office unless she step down – a threat he later carried out by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget.

Travis County deputies arrested and charged Lehmberg with DWI in April 2013. She later pled guilty and was sentenced to 45 days in jail – an usually harsh sentence for a first-time drunken driving charge. She later prevailed in a civil lawsuit to remove her from office."

It happens a lot and sometimes comes to light. Just look at Chris Christy's bridge fiasco and Sarah Palin's trying to have her ex brother in law state trooper fired. They may attract attention and bad publicity but nothing ever comes from any legal action against a governor. It's much better to get them the old fashioned way; accepting money.

A major American city under curfew... shocking.

Before dawn, looters, their faces hidden, lugged stolen bottles of rum and vodka. After the sun returned, good-hearted citizens with brooms helped to clean the mess.

This is an anecdote for America. Rotten in the core, but cleans up nicely.

The people who are ashamed and cleaning up are outnumbered by the rabid scum 2-1. America has become Angola. Celebrate the diversity!

If the classroom is so rowdy and one cannot control it, go thru the steps, complain to the principal, etc.

What I suggest to those who show concern for behavior in public schools is to do one day as a substitute teacher.

And not is one of the rich suburbs.

In a school district such as Florence Unified School District.

Or say . . . Ferguson, Missouri !

I wouldn't last a day as a teacher before being arrested because I don't take crap from anyone, including students that like to "game" the system.

Years ago, in high school, there used to be a guy who sat in front of me in class. His name was Paul Delaney. The teacher was a old skinny woman with a wrinkled face who used to sit on a student's disk up front and carry on an extended monologue. She had the respect of all students in that class except Paul Delaney. In the middle of her monologue, he would say out loud, "PRUNE FACE...PRUNE FACE..." .... She would pretend like she didn't hear him and continue with her monologue....
