I'd go so far as to say that if Trump is president, it will mean the end of the American Empire and possibly the start of WWIII.

From a sporting point of view, I would like to see Trump attacking Clinton big time, that would be good entertainment.

My daughter was telling me that if Trump becomes president, she would leave USA. I feel the same way.

Trump may be right about Mexicans paying for the wall at the border -- if he becomes president, there may be such a big exodus of Americans crossing the border into Mexico that Mexicans may have to build a wall to keep the gringos out.

Trump Says As President He’ll Actively Sue Any Media Outlet That ‘Negatively’ Reports On Him

At a Texas rally meant to celebrate his recent endorsement by one-time opponent Chris Christie, Donald Trump said the 1st Amendment doesn’t extend to journalists who write “purposely negative†articles about him. His plan, one of the view policy positions he’s actually laid out, would be to “open up†more libel laws and then sue the newspapers into oblivion.

To a crowd of supporters, Trump laid out his vision for what free speech would look like in Trump’s America: It boiled down to "be good to me or I’ll destroy you."

“I’m gonna open up our libel laws, so when they write purposely negative and horrible, false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money.

"We’re going to open up those libels laws. So that when The New York Times writes a hit piece, which is a total disgrace, or when
The Washington Post
, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money.â€

He closed with promising his fans that he’ll “sue†critics like they’ve “never got sued before.â€

How did Trump’s supporters respond to this terrifying, fascist vision for the future? They went crazy. A cheer went up in the crowd that nearly drowned out Trump’s comments.

Trump’s attack on the media representS a bold new step in Trump’s march towards a literal Nazi political platform. America has long enjoyed a (relatively) free press and, whether politicians like it or not, the openness has helped keep America free from the kind of totalitarian governments seen in places like North Korea and China. It doesn’t mean that the press is always fair. Notably, Barack Obama has faced a constant barrage of right-wing hit pieces directed at his character, his family, and his legacy. However, as bad as it gets, Americans have always recognized that restricting the voice of the media is a line that shouldn’t be crossed – until now.

Trump, who views any criticism of his ideas or rhetoric as an insult, has a massive ego and paper thin skin. How would he define “negative†and “false†articles? Where would he stop? On what basis would he sue the New York Times or the Washington Post or even liberal blogs which don’t agree to go quietly along with his message of bigotry, racism, and war-mongering? The answers to those questions are almost too terrifying to imagine.

Clinton's margin of victory shrinks to 0.25 after Iowa audit

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Hillary Clinton still has defeated Bernie Sanders in the Iowa Democratic caucus, but an internal party review released Sunday found new errors in the original count that further narrowed her margin of victory — a result that’s likely to keep scrutiny on the caucus state while the rest of the country looks to New Hampshire.

The audit by the Iowa Democratic Party discovered errors in five of 14 precincts across the state from Monday’s caucuses that shrink Clinton’s overall advantage in the key delegate results to a 0.25 percent lead over Sanders, down from 0.27 percent

Errors were found that affect the outcome in multiple directions for all three Democrats who participated in the caucus. Sanders picked up small additional totals of state delegate equivalents because of precinct mistakes in Marion, Woodbury and Poweshiek counties. Clinton netted a small increase because of a problem in a precinct in Story County. And Martin O’Malley, who withdrew from the race after his poor showing last Monday, also came out with additional delegate support because of errors in Osceola County.

Why the Trump University debacle is exactly what his fan base needs to finally understand he’s a predator

After getting pushed around by Donald Trump for the better part of a primary season, Florida senator Marco Rubio finally landed a clean shot during Thursday night’s CNN/Telemundo debate, taking aim at the billionaire’s notorious real estate seminars, dubiously called Trump University.

“A fake university,†Rubio said with a smirk. “And you know what they got, they got to take a picture with a cardboard cutout of Donald Trump. That’s what they got for $36,000.â€

Three ongoing multimillion-dollar lawsuits against Trump University and its namesake have been going through the courts for years, but as Trump comes closer to the nomination, the scandal is resurfacing both in court and in the GOP primary. The suits focus mainly on the deceptive marketing tactics and false promises of Trump U that left many of the plantiffs tens of thousands of dollars in debt.

In court filings last Friday, lawyers in one of the civil suits named Trump as one of their witnesses, meaning the candidate will be cross-examined and the problem will almost certainly become a major campaign issue. No trial date has been set for the suit, but Yahoo News reports it will be “moving forward†soon.

Rubio isn’t the only one hammering the issue. Texas senator Ted Cruz, third in the polls behind Rubio and Trump, has been bringing it up more as of late, telling an audience in Houston, Texas, “It’s a fraud case. I want you to think that if this man is the nominee, having the Republican nominee on the stand in court being cross-examined about whether he committed fraud: you don’t think the mainstream media won’t go crazy on that?â€

The university was, of course, anything but. It existed mainly in the form of obscenely expensive real estate seminars, CDs and DVDs. It had no classes, teachers or buildings. The scam had to eventually change its name to the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative, after New York state education regulators objected to the use of the term “university.â€

Gawker quoted New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman:

“No one, no matter how rich or famous they are, has a right to scam hardworking New Yorkers,â€
. “Anyone who does should expect to be held accountable.†The attorney general said that Trump appeared in advertisements making “false promises†that persuaded more than 5,000 people around the country, including 600 New Yorkers, “to spend tens of thousands of dollars they couldn’t afford for lessons they never got.â€

As ThinkProgress notes, Rubio doesn’t have much moral high ground on the issue, having written a letter to the U.S. Department of Education in 2014 asking for leniency for price-gouging for-profit Corinthian Colleges. But Trump’s case is certainly a step worse. His so-called university wasn’t just a sleazy marketing racket that sold a fraudulent product to the credulous masses; it was based on a Ponzi-like system of increased payment for rewards that almost never came to be — and all without even a degree to show for it.

Is this finally going to be the issue that chips into Trump’s populist image, and thus his lead? If the average voter knew Trump had made millions off the backs of the vulnerable, would he care? Thus far, Trump has been impervious to slandering veterans, Mexicans, Muslims, Fox News and every single major GOP figure. Perhaps his exploitation of the very entrepreneurial, aspirational class he is supposed to champion and embody will finally be his undoing.
