Finally, the FBI does something.

New Mexico compound gang arrested by FBI

Five adults at a desert compound in New Mexico have been arrested by the FBI weeks after a judge received death threats for granting them bail.

The two men and three women, residents at a site where 11 starving children and the buried remains of a toddler were found, face conspiracy charges.

Child abuse charges against the five were dismissed after a 10-day limit for a hearing was missed by prosecutors.

They will now remain in custody pending a hearing in federal court on Tuesday.

The charges include unlawful possession of firearms by an illegal immigrant, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, and aiding and abetting in the committing of an offence, the FBI said in a statement on Friday.

The accused had been under FBI drone surveillance at their remote compound north of Taos since May, according to Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe.

Protests over bail decision

On 13 August, Judge Sarah Backus granted bail to the five defendants after she said the prosecution had failed to convince her that they were a threat to the community.

The prosecution argued that all five adults were dangerous and claimed they had trained the children to use weapons and prepare to carry out school shootings.

"The state alleges that there was a big plan afoot, but the state hasn't shown to my satisfaction, in clear and convincing evidence, what that plan was," Judge Backus said.

She ordered that all five must wear ankle monitors and have weekly contact with their lawyers.

But her decision was met with protests including an email in which she was called an "Islamic terror sympathiser".

The Taos County court building was evacuated briefly on Tuesday after the threats.

Prosecutors talk of 'religious rituals'

Prosecutors also said that the remains found at the site were those of Abdul-Ghani and that the other children said the boy had died during a "religious ritual... intended to cast out demonic spirits", during which Siraj Wahhaj had put his hand to his son's forehead, and recited verses from the Koran.

Abdul-Ghani suffered from seizures, but Mr Wahhaj believed the boy was possessed by the devil and needed to be exorcised, court papers said.

However defence lawyers accused the prosecution of treating the five suspects unfairly because they are Muslim - something the prosecutors deny.

Defence lawyer Thomas Clark said after the hearing that if the accused were Christian and white then "nobody would bat an eye over the idea of faith healing".

"But when black Muslims do it, there seems to be something nefarious, something evil," he said.

"The two men and three women"

These 5 people sound like nutters of the first water.

"Judge Sarah Backus granted bail to the five defendants" "But her decision was met with protests including an email in which she was called an "Islamic terror sympathiser". The Taos County court building was evacuated briefly on Tuesday after the threats."

So let me get this straight ::

some Muslim nutters have been planning something execrable, on the back of some truly horrible child abuse.. terrible people, all of them...

but some normal Americans, actually made threats, to a Judge and the Taos County court house had to be evacuated, because of these and presumably other threats. I though that the tactics and behaviour of Muslim Terrorists was to be avoided at all costs, not adopted and used in the name of Christi-insanity...

The world has gone mad, in case you didn't notice. Stay indoors and out of sight.

p.s. Taos is beautiful, or at least it used to be. I haven't been there in 40+ years. We still own some land near there.

<< At the Monday hearing, prosecutors argued that some of children at the compound were being trained to use guns in preparation for attacks on educational, law enforcement and other institutions. That information came from two teenagers, ages 13 and 15, who were interviewed by an FBI agent.

The agent testified that he was told that the children were undergoing firearms and tactical training to attack “corrupt” institutions that would be identified by the dead boy, who was to be resurrected as Jesus in the coming months. >>   :surprised:

There's a motive: "A former Marine told authorities he kept a cache of more than 40 pipe bombs in his Arizona home to please his wife, who believed they would be needed if the U.S. government collapsed ..."

There had to be a woman behind it. Of course, she denies it.  :)

p.s. You wouldn't believe some of the shit the military taught us how to do. Making IEDs is easy.

Pepper spray discharges during flight to Hawaii, 15 treated

HONOLULU (AP) — A can of pepper spray went off inside a plane headed from Oakland, California, to Maui on Friday, requiring emergency help for several people aboard, Hawaiian Airlines said.

Twelve passengers and three flight attendants were treated for respiratory issues and released by emergency responders at the airport in Kahului, Hawaii, airline spokesman Alex Da Silva said.

A passenger illegally brought the pepper spray on the plane carrying 256 passengers and 10 crew members, but it appears it discharged accidentally, Da Silva said in a statement. The airline could not provide any details about the passenger or why officials believe the release was accidental.

The flight crew of the Boeing 767 declared an emergency to get priority to land at the airport in Hawaii.

Nicholas Andrade said he and his fiancee were trying to take a nap in their seats just behind first class when the problems began.

"I was woken up by someone having a coughing fit. But what I came to find out is that it wasn't one person coughing, it was many people coughing. And then everyone was coughing and then we were coughing. And the flight attendants were covering their faces and passengers started covering their faces," he said.

People had trouble breathing and were shouting.

"People were definitely panicked," he said.

Flight attendants told the affected passengers to move to the back of the plane where the air wasn't bothering people. He said about 40 people stood in the back galley for about a half-hour until the air around their seats improved.

Andrade was among the 12 evaluated by medical professionals after the plane landed. He said he had a headache and felt light-headed. Other passengers had burning and watering eyes.

Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said in an email that her agency and Maui police are investigating.

She said the canister held about 1.5 ounces (42 grams). The fine for bringing pepper spray onto an airplane can reach $1,960 or higher, Farbstein said.

The airline said the flight was delayed earlier Friday after a teenager in Oakland sent a photo depicting a fake crime scene "featuring a child-sized mannequin" to other passengers' cellphones. The teen and his family were booked for a later flight while officials investigated.

Hawaiian Airlines said the two incidents were not related and the family's baggage had to be located and removed from the plane, causing the delay.

Regarding the abused and murdered children. I firmly believe many of the thousands of missing children in America are due to various types groups as well as individuals. I have friends in the DC area and for a time (maybe still is) there was always a teen girl missing. There was a theory that groups or individuals were posting flyers targeted to teens. "Earn $25 dollars an hour. No experience needed. High School students wanted" things of that effect. You call the number or email and some were told to show up at a certain address. This place was secluded where knockout chemicals and a van with darkened windows was waiting.

I've long heard missing children were taken out to remote places in Idaho, Montana, etc .for who knows what purpose or someone's cellar somewhere. My guess is the FBI knows what's going on and doesn't let the public know because of the backlash and outrage.

Could also be lack of evidence to mount a raid. And history is littered with examples of girls/women with Stockholm syndrome.
