Bubi,

They represent the sole interests of their state as it is now. The state is their employer as they are sent to Washington, DC to represent their state.

It makes more sense to let their state pay them for everything. I am 100% in favor of this idea!

They are there to represent their state to conduct the nation's business ON BEHALF of their constituents. Ok, brief history lesson here. The reason we have 2 bodies of legislature is because the smaller states didn't want to be under represented and dominated by the interests of the bigger states (Senate) and the bigger states didn't want their population diluted by equal representation (hence the house of Representatives where California has over 435 representatives and Rhode Island having 75.

The President is the ONLY one elected to represent ALL of America.e  So, no problem in his salary (and cabinet) being one paid on behalf of all the people.  Same with the Supreme Court. Nancy Pelosi and Ted Cruz are there to represent their respective states, hence they push for legislature that benefits their state's interest. The matters that affect the nation are voted on by everyone, someone has to BUT even if the matter at hand may be good for the country at large BUT it hurts their constituents, they are not going to vote for it usually. As liberal as California is, there is an area of Los Angeles that had Northrup Grumman and their suppliers there. In liberal California that congressional seat ALWAYS voted for defense spending.

Compromise comes in whereby a Minnesota house  member votes for his Iowa's counterpart's  methanol farm subsidy if the Iowa rep will vote for his fisheries legislation for Minnesota. Some things transcend state interests for sure but they are there to represent their own. So, let their own pay.

We are in the early stages of a recession. To be fair, Trump didn't start it. He inherited it. His mistake was in claiming the same fake numbers propped up by the Federal Reserve and Secretary of the Treasury that Obama was using and Bush before him. Trump, to his credit, rightfully said the numbers were off during the campaign. The government numbers said employment was lowering since 2008 but those were jobs where people were grossly under employed. Young college grads taking jobs as Fed Ex counter clerks just to get some income in to pay off massive college debt. Trump got many to vote for him because what they were experiencing wasn't what the Government was saying at the time. Then after he got elected he kept taking credit for the same numbers which were always going down. Reagan kept saying it was Carter's economy his first year or two. Obama kept saying it was Bush's bad economy he inherited UNTIL the numbers and the stats changed consistently. Trump's biggest mistake I think was saying it was now his economy and the numbers are proof he is doing a good job immediately.

I've made a nice amount of money shorting (betting it will go down) the stock market over the last month. The party is over. 401Ks will have a negative calendar balance for the first time in 10 years if they were invested in the market. The best stocks known as FANGA (Facebook, Apple, Netflix, Google, Amazon) are all technically in bear markets (which is down 20 percent or more).

Strange thing is gold. Gold is one of the things I trade and traditionally it goes up when the market goes down (because its a safe haven) but it sometimes drops. Gold hit a new high in the run up to the 2008 crash because the insiders knew the economy was shit. However gold has dropped in price since January where it was about 1,350 an ounce and these days its about 1,240 or so an ounce. It's thrown me for a loop a few times on some losing trades. Silver as well.

In theory another 2008 like crash would see gold go up to 2,000 an ounce almost immediately. Not sure if that will happen this time and the reason some economists and financiers or saying is that we will be in a deflationary period instead of inflationary period and gold/silver is a hedge against inflationary recessions.

As of now, there are 17, count 'em, 17, publicly known, current investigations of Trump. There may well be others that are not known.

Flynn gets sentenced tomorrow morning 11.00.am ET. Those documents will be revealing.

I predict uproar and Donald's twitter account will melt.

How Did the Obama State Department Target Donald Trump?

In the investigation of the Deep State’s efforts against President Trump, national attention has been focused primarily on the Justice Department and the FBI. Now we have more evidence of Obama’s State Department inserting itself into the resistance melee.

MSM Refuse to Say Why Mueller's Doubling Down With Every Resource on Trump: There's No Evidence

Bobby Mueller's desperate. Time's up. Yep, there's no evidence of a crime. Nothing. Nada. Zip. That's why they're losing their minds. They can’t lay a finger on Trump. And despite the sanpaku eyes of Shifty Schiff and Congresschild Ocrazio-Kotex, Mueller’s wish-list memos are nothing more than that and (as they pathetically hope) a list of coming attractions...
